Housing Moratorium help understanding where to look for info.

I see open plots, and I'm still a very new player. I noticed they are sanctioned with a moratorium. I haven't seen anything indicating time when players would be able to purchase on patch notes or even that one was in place. May I ask help on where I would find this information? I meant the game has handed me about 4 mil in gil/rewards etc at this point. I've had no reason to spend gil other than teleport.

Basically, the reason those houses are open is because they were just added in 5.1 and there's a lock that only and FC or relocating player (someone with a house already) can purchase them currently. They will PROBABLY lift that restriction sometime in 5.2 so keep an eye out for the announcement that it's coming.

Thanks for the heads up to a new player. SE doesn't seem to keep a proper handle on making housing easy, and I get why they do it after all the searches/information out there and what not. To put all the info in one spot would make the manipulators/hoarders have it to easy, but the fact is it seems they know all this and keep quiet anyway.

OT: @MCTwisp, make sure that you can access all housing districts and scout your ideal plots in all districts and possibly master the routes to these locations it will be a rush when the moratorium is lifted.

I can access and Thank you, I'm not picky for a first house. I'm OK with goblet. My fc lead told me don't be picky buy the first available, and keep saving so you can transfer when the plot you want is available. To be honest; a rando stranger gave me a 100k gil and said they were "retiring." Then they said go buy an item off the market board below x price and sell it to a vendor. So I've just been browsing the market board for items under cost and vendor sell them. I've just been doing that and have saved 4 mil gil. I farm everything I need. The guides are incredible. What I will say though is watching all the bots do the head bob is wrong. If you want a plot you should just be a passer by and check your placards in order for all plots. Then after you're lucky enough to find the plot you want, go to a plot that's open and transfer. This just seems to be the right way to do it. This is actually what my fc did to get their house on the plot they wanted.

The issus is on some servers wards 19 to 21 are completely sold out. That is in my view totally unfair to new users who want a house and not a FC one. At the least they should add some new wards with the implementation of housing for all when 5.2 releases which I assume will be the starting point for private home purchases there.

That would be nice, but it's unfortunately unlikely given their ongoing issues with server strain. Not to mention they implement housing across all servers, and while you can't keep up with the demand on some servers, you've got ghost towns on others with tons of plots still open.
