    A new idea for AST's Divination

    Hello Friends,

    I have a new idea for AST divination and just want to see what my fellow eorzeans think about it.

    AST cards has been a huge topic since 5.0 dropped. I don't like them but thats a different post. Anyway how about AST cards/seals work like WHM lilies. Lilies generate every 30 seconds while in combat up to 3. So 3 lilies every 90 seconds. Once they use 3 lilies they get access to their most powerful dps spell. Now let's hope AST cards get reverted back to what they were in HW/SB. However RR/Spread will stay gone. Sorry but yeah. Anyway, how about this.

    For every 3 draws/plays they get accessed to divination. Divination will give those 3 buffs to the whole party for 15 seconds. For example. AST first draws balance which was damage increase by 10%, Bole next which was defense by 20% and lastly Arrow which was attack speed increase by 10%. The seals will save those buffs. Think of Divination as it's allowing AST to reverse time to when each of those buffs were active on a player and expands them all to the party. However it will be at half of the potency just like RR expand use to do. I don't think it will be too powerful. I feel it will bring back the decision making of AST like we use to have. Also, if you have 3 buffs saved and ready to go but you figure you don't need Bole's defense (For example). Then you can always wait and draw another card and hopefully if RNG is on your side it will be spear which use to give 10% crit. Play it and just like seals now, it will move out the oldest buff for the new buff. You can only have 3 buff seals saved at one time. Another thing is Sleeve Draw. Now we can keep sleeve draw and that can basically stay on a 2 minute CD and will be our instant 3 draws to get 3 buff seals instantly. Kinda like how we do now. You can't stack more than one of the same buff seals. So if you draw balance first then play it and get the buff seal then on your next draw you get balance again and play it then you just won't acquire a buff seal. The RNG will still be there as always. (Heart of the cards) Lol.

    So what do you guys think? Do you think it will be overpowered? Do you think it will bring back some decision making with AST? I believe if this was implemented then the cards should stay at the current 15 second duration. Not be increased to 30 seconds. That's just me though.

    Look, I'm all in favor of changing the card system and/or Divination, but Squeenix said they didn't like us "fishing" for specific cards, THEN they created this seals mess that absolutely requires fishing to get three different seals that maximize the buff effect of Divination.

    If they really don't want us fishing for a 'preferred' card, they should simply remove Redraw entirely. Change a few of the cards to be similar to what they were before PLUS a secondary effect of each card for extending duration or AEing the next draw, and restore Royal Road, so that when we draw a card that might not be the best in the current scenario, it can be used to enhance the next one. (And code it so that the same card cannot be drawn twice in a row, making it impossible to get the same card that wasn't preferred.)

    Honestly, pre-5.0, I rarely fished for a specific card; the secondary effect gave even the least desirable card a benefit.

    And for petes sake, revert Celestial Opposition to the AE stun that it was before. If one heal job can have a stun, all of them should have it in some fashion or another. Isn't that what this whole dramatic set of changes was about.. homogenization?

    tbh, that would be good but on the other hand it could get a bit strong (eg balance, spear, arrow). If they gave us our cards back (and scrapped that terrible play button)

    if they dont then its kinda useless, bit like the current divination (6 sodding percent? you can't even see that without a parse)

    I just think it's amusing honestly that with this card system it encourages you to want to use a parse system to even show you that you're contributing. Seeing my numbers on a third party program isn't going to make me happy about AST. Think Square enix has truly forgotten that engaging game play is not all about the numbers. Making everything so basic, just..turns me away. Sad thing is your cards are shit until 70+ even then it's the most horrible experience I've had in ffxiv.

    I fish more for seals than for cards now. It's frustrating AF.

    I was thinking that exact same thing yesterday, right before my duty ended and I switched to another job to keep playing.
