I'd like to see some customizability in relic weapons. Such as choosing some visual details/auras/power, but I think its unlikely
The problem is that with Eureka we kinda got a lukewarm story for it too. So IMO the story for the isle of Val and the relic story line both suffered. The Isle has been part of the MSQ yet at least the part I did (which was only the first map) was disappointing. Krile just send me out to another place I should look for and that was most of the story. Now those that wanted to get behind the whole story had to level through four maps and to get to the best ending they had to do the open dungeon too..that is imo way too much work for something like that. On top of that we lost the whole relic story line for it. Even if the thought behind the relics gets old (we want to forge the best weapon) the interactions and NPCs behind it were great for me. Heck for the new one we would not even need Gerolt as one of the main NPCs. Let it be someone new that maybe want to recreate some old relics from the past to give them weapons that can help them while they rebuilt their city. Thus a new storyline, new NPCs (with guests like Gerolt) and we get meaning for our weapons in form of some lore informations.
We have so many different ages thanks to the calamities, all of them could be used for the relic weapons to give us some small bits of lore.

For folks asking to tone down the grind, I'd brace for disappointment. The entire point of the relic for each expansion is that it trades off the difficulty of a Savage raid for a horrendous grind, instead. If you could get a Raid-level weapon by doing something trivial, that takes an awful lot of the appeal away from raiding in the first place. When you raid, you want to be challenged, but you also want to be rewarded for that challenge. If that reward is something any old shmuck can turn over a rock and pick up - well, what kind of reward is that? If you have to turn over a hundred thousand rocks, though, the raiders don't feel so bad. (Well, some still do. They are welcome to also try their hand at turning over a hundred thousand rocks, if it's so easy.)
I don't know how Eureka-like Bozja will be, but whatever form their Relic takes, you can bet your ass it will require countless hours of doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over...
The Story of Eureka:
Anemos players: Whoa, this place is actually dangerous! And we're doing exp parties now? I'm divided on whether I appreciate the old-skool feel or am revolted by it! *Then, CHOO-CHOO! The NM Train arrives!* Okay, I'm mostly cool with it, now. Still, this grind is awful.
SE: What? Where'd that train come from? Where did the exp parties go??? We must FIX THIS!!!
Pagos players: Oh, hell naw.
SE: Erm... Yeah, fine. Choo-choo it is. Please come back. Look, we'll even fix up Pagos a bit for you. Happy? And look, something new in Pyros!
Pyros players: Okay, yeah, these Logos actions are pretty neat. They allow for some pretty awesome cheese strats, too! Thanks for not nerfing them. Pagos still a drag, but somewhat better now. Kinda confused as to why half of the Eureka fire zone is covered with snow. Train running on schedule. Still, this grind is awful.
SE: Glad you approve, and have we got a treat for you!
Hydatos players: Wow, this is the most open Eureka yet! Only the most grind-tolerant among us have managed to make it here, but this is pretty cool. Train running on time. And, wow... Baldesion's Arsenal is intense! But don't you think it was a bit absurd to allow any rando to enter? Oh, and the grind is still awful.
I find that the folks who complain most bitterly about Eureka are the ones who never made it past Pagos. Folks that actually experienced Pyros and Hydatos usually have a much warmer opinion of Eureka as a whole. Not everyone, certainly, but in general. SE certainly did take folks opinions into consideration as the event evolved, and while the final stage certainly had its share of flaws, I found it to be pretty enjoyable, and many others did, as well.

Give me the true Lionheart with the blue saber and all or I will RANT. That's all I ask, we're doing relic weapons having to do with the gunbreakers origin, let's get it right!!!!
Yeah Pagos was definitely the low point. The grind was longer (or at least it felt like the longest grind to me), the map was annoying laid out, the aetherytes were overleveled for the enemies around them making it unneccisarily annoying to get to NMs if you were doing something else in another part of the map until you were leveled... I remember being annoyed because I stayed up late to finish Pagos one night, got my relic a half hour before servers went down...only to find the next morning was the very first nerf.
Pyros and Hydatos were much better. Pagos was really the only part I outright hated but I managed to slug through it at a slower pace than Anemos and put off Pyros for a while because of it. But once I 'DID' do Pyros it was a lot better, and I ultimately made 20 mil selling a lucky drop from one of the NMs which was cool.
I will never understand how anyone found Eureka enjoyable. Ever. I disliked it from Anemos to Hydatos. By the time I got to Hydatos I was so exhausted by the content that when I found out just how long it would take me to get the necessary components to get the final stage weapon I just gave up. The random stats had destroyed my ability to care enough to finish that slog lol.
I hated Pagos because the entire zone felt like it was meant to artificially pad your relic completion time. The vertical design, the ledge drops, the sleeping dragons, and the true sight enemies near the end. By far it was the worst zone of all of them in my opinion.
Anemos was fine, Pyros needed a few extra tunnels to get to places, Hydatos was just about perfect.
Now as far as the Citadel goes? I'm not really sure what to expect but given the name and lore we have so far, I'm expecting another zone with a base camp and a large open area we have to explore as (if my suspicions are correct) we'll be retaking the section of the city little by little from the Garleans. So if that is the case, I want our relic weapon/armor to be Garlean style armor. Not the Allagan or Ironworks style, but legit Garlean armor and weapons like we see on the various Legatus characters and Garlean elite soldier characters. Additionally, I do NOT want another separate leveling system requiring us to level grind and deal with exp loss.
I'd rather it be we get a starter weapon and armor, to upgrade them is no more complicated than grinding enemies and killing NM for hours until we kill enough to be able to upgrade our weapons. No RNG or random elements either, just give us a straight path to work towards the relic.
