I imagine everything is called something else in other translations. But if you're mentoring in English one would think you'd know at least the basic terms, otherwise what is the point outside of having a shiny crown?

Very true. But I don't think this is a criticism of the person. You can help others regardless of having a crown, and that person may be a great person. But you have to do collectibles to get the crown. Not knowing what even those are speaks about the value of the crown itself.

With making the collectible glove automatic with Ishgard Restoration, you could very well get Trade Mentor without ever even knowing the Collector's Glove existed-- but if you only use macros... eh, depending on what level recipe, you may or may not have to do your class quests.

Look at requirements to pve mentors. You have to do all tank, healer, and dps shadowbringers job quests plus do bunch of dungeon runs and have tons of comms. Mentor is suppose to be hard to become and have lots and lots of experience in that field. Other wise why even give requirements to be one if don't think need a challenge to be one. How it is right now I could create alt and in one to two days it could be a trade mentor that's how easy it is right now.

This comes off as a misnomer.

Job wise you only need to do 2 Jobs, which is a Tank and ACN (class) because Scholar and SMN both level.
There's only 3 role quests, which as you said is Tank, Healer, and DPS.


Commendationss and Dungeons are really a matter of time, most people already hit those requirements easily so not sure why this is hard.

I mean there still is a lot more content for Battle classes than Trade Mentors, so it makes sense to have a bit more knowledge than trade which is a lot more simple.

Well, this was before Ishgard restoration hit. But still, the point is how many trade mentors lack fundamental knowledge to actually act as mentors, which is sad.
And it reinforced the OP point that it needs to be harder.

Would making it harder help? If people can reach the current requirements without picking up at least a little knowledge, then they will be able to reach higher requirements as well without learning a single thing - it will just take longer.
