If I'm understanding your original question properly then I suppose what confuses me is why healers are typically played by extremes like super lively and polite people or emo as hell and bitchy all the time and I've seen this a lot in my WoW days too. Another thing that confuses me isn't about people why main healers but more of why people are so afraid of it, because honestly i find it the most engaging and fun role to play and wish I had done it sooner.
I think the former is the initial healer personality, and the second is a healer after being fed up of healing crappy parties.
I surely often go from one to the other.

I often find myself wondering why some healers just refuse to use Esuna. Especially when there's something like four instances of poison on one person.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally find that for dots it's almost always more efficient to heal through it with an oGCD than to use a GCD casting Esuna. I'll always cleanse Doom and Paralysis.
Tbf I was confused on the wording on the OP so I thought it was on topic technically it is devs have to touch healers even for few mins to make sure no hiccups in animations etc so they can be classed as other healers.
Why do some healers not have esuna on their hotbars especially for stuff like Doomgaze/Exdeath nm?
