Just to clarify, I was referencing the incident with Arthras where he put a BLM on blast for underperforming and received a ban for it. I was not suggesting all BLMs should be kicked. Was Arthras being a dick? Absolutely. But the BLM was not ready to be in that type of the content, whilst being pretty content to hold seven other people back. But you have to walk on eggshells on how you approach people like the BLM. That's the catch 22 here.

If telling a player they are holding everyone puts you in risk of a ban, then why risk it at all.

    EDIT: Beat me to it.

The issue is even with the bar being low, there are people that just fall short. Unfortunately SE designs the raids in such a way where one terrible player can prevent the rest from clearing it.

Would they take action if it escalated? Hm, maybe but not really. I can’t really see SE policing the community to the extent you are suggesting. There’s so many impossibilities that it just becomes impractical. They would just hammer down the notion of parsing being disallowed and its mention bannable. But that doesn’t really fix any issues. It just creates an environment where you remove potential problems before they happen. Only people hurt are people who want to give people a chance.

There will always be players that underperform so much they hold other people back. Removing parsing won’t change that. Instead of looking at your logs people will just bump the ilevel requirement up astronomically, or look at your lodestone for achievements. The situation would just get worse.
