How about: A built-in private parser whose results can be viewed after you leave the instance. The game could maintain an average performance database by job and item level, which your results would be compared against, not the other players.

So, after a run, I'd get a pop-up to view my results, and my DPS / HPS / tankiness(?) would be shown relative to the overall average. After viewing, (or not), my personal data would be discarded.

Why would people use that when they have a better tool?
Not only that, but the better tool allows them to kick weak-links from the party without wondering who it is, and it also allows parses to be broken down, so you can see when/where/how to improve?

Savage and EX is meant to be more high end hardcore gaming. It was never really meant for everyone until that content gets old and needs to be rejuvenated.

This game used to be relatively hard, it was made casual because using your brain is foreign to most people.

And to the OP, what SE needs to do is to open their API and support Act usage. Blizzard has done the same for addon like recount and details(types of parsers) and they still ban people for being asses.

That being said there are waaay to MA y guides for none parsing players within the community to improve. They truthfully don't want to improve and do the bare minimum for most content so they expect people to carry them.

The only solution if SE doesn't enforce harder content is for people who are competent to just not play with bad players who take polite advice as *toxic* or to just be blunt about how they're messing up and move on.

If Stone, Sea, Sky doesn't work, then what you really want isn't a training dummy. You want a solo-instanced "Role Training" version of the fight, which, incidentally, isn't a simple solution at all based on the sheer number of additional "Training" fights they'd need to add (4 savage raids + 2 extreme trials, multiplied by 3 roles makes for 18 new instances with just the current "high-end" duties).

Alternatively, the extremely simple solution that already exists in the game is to educate people about the Raid Finder's matching requirements (Duty Incomplete), purpose (Practice), and practice phase selection (First Phase or Final Phase). Maybe expand that to include all "high-end" content that regular players struggle with.

The easiest solution is that if you are a bad to terrible player, and you have no desire to get better, dont waste other peoples time in content that requires you being or getting better.

Why not just introduce a Training/Practice Run Mechanic so people can learn a fight?
I think one of the bigger issues is people just not knowing what they are doing, when you go in blind you dont know the mechanics, so it can also effect your DPS because you are worried about other things.
Gatekeeping isn't really a solution as it would probably just kill interest in doing content if you have to jump through a bunch of holes and then complete instances in order to do something. Heck, even if they did do that, its not like it guarantee's a clear. Other factors take place for every player.

See the issue is people would see those tools and still not use them. I'm all for having more tools in game, but if it's optional we still have the same issue of people underperforming and the tools provided not being touched.

Guides, videos from well known raiders and the whole of the balance discord fall under tools provided as well.

Guides & Videos have the Problem of Over Explaining. We are seeing and listening to what the author of the video is showing us, but then there is so many things they talk about and show on screen that it becomes like a Sensory Overload and you lose focus and get lost. To many things.
The best way to learn something, is to do it, and learn on the fly, see and experience it, then as a group/community learn and teach from failures.
Thats where I think the Training/Practice thing would be more useful.
How they would program that IDK, but odds are it would just fall on the players to do it themselves.....and patient people willing to help can be VERY scarce.

Yes...you are right, but as people complain about customization, having more options is good.
Even if one part doesn't want/use it. Another part Will/Wants it.

I can agree some of the videos from youtubers and streamers can be a bit too much depending on who you're watching, or some explain fights expecting you to have prior knowledge. But even with tools in place I still feel due to the amount of players who wouldnt use them it wouldn't get rid of the stigma of the *bad player* and the stigma of the *elitism*.

With tools put in game we would see some players definietly use them to great effect, they would improve and become decent raiders most likely, that being said, theres still the issue of the many newer players who refuse to take the polite and positive advice from those few who are quick to clear content in the first place.

I feel due to the idea of it being *elitist*(the word being thrown around so much people forget what it means) a lot of people just ignore basic advice like get a new weapon or cycle your cool downs. That adds into the stigma of the *bad player(s)* I feel a lot of higher end players feel that a decent amount of the lower end players can't be helped. You see how this now goes back and forth.

So even with tools in place(again I would love for more tools to help the people who want them improve) we then come to how do we deal with both high end toxicity AND casual toxicity.

A bit off topic from the main point of OPs topic, but even with ACT AND more tools from SE themselves in place, we have a lot of people who perpetuate situations that lead us right back to square one.
