    Cannot run set up: runtime error abnormal program termination

    After I opened the ffxiv setup it lets me choose my region but then pops up with a run time error and says 'abnormal program termination'
    I've tried running as administrator and I've turned off my firewall also
    My computer is windows10

    Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

    Hi there, I can't because I can't download the game client at all. I'm trying to play on a new computer.

    Good morning and thank you for the reply.

    If you have not done so already, could you try downloading and reinstalling the redistributable files? To do so please use use the following:

    -Go to the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) page

    -Click "Download." button. When it finishes downloading, go to the next step.

    -Double-click the downloaded file.

    - Follow the instructions in the "Installation Wizard."

    Hi I have done so and it still says abnormal program termination. Are there other files/settings I need for the startup to run?
