    Suggestion: Repairing other people armor

This may have been said a few times not to sure but it's something I have thought about for a long time. I just thought they might of implemented it by now.

I just wish I had the option to do it in between dungeons for people and or friends. Seems easy enough to implement. Just like requesting meld it would say request repair

    Thoughts on this?

They probably won't do it as it gives you a reason to level a crafter. The reason to allow you to meld other people's gears is for overmelding. You don't need to repair more than 100%, so you can just use the NPC if you're not a crafter.

I've been wishing they'd do this for years, have run into quite a few situations where someones gear would break mid run and they'd either leave or half to hobble through the dungeon missing about 90% of their normal health pool. Giving a reason to level crafters is not a valid reason to withhold this feature as they already gave a reason/incentive to level crafters....to repair your own gear in dungeons lol. Being able to repair other peoples gear is useful for sure, but offers no gameplay advantage for yourself over someone that doesn't have their crafters leveled, in-fact it would be more advantageous for someone that doesn't have their crafters leveled as they'd have a potential emergency cushion incase they forgot to repair after queuing into a dungeon.

They had this in 1.0. It ended up mainly being used to show off gear and as extra inventory space. I did make my first 50 million Gil this way though, because some moron thought it was a bazaar and had all of his primal gear listed for millions. 15 seconds later and I was rich(by 1.0 standards).

To the OP, it's something I wondered about myself, since they had that feature in 1.0. It would make raiding a lot more streamlined w/o having to exit the instance so someone who can't self repair, can get a repair instead in the instance. Just thinking back on the older raids from SB where the final boss always had a door boss first, as an example.

To be honest there are plenty of other reasons to level crafting. NPCs have a tendency to not be readily available when you've forgotten to repair and you're in a hurry to get to one as the queue for your dungeon just popped and on top of that the load screens have decided to take their time too.

There are indeed plenty of reasons, but not every reason is for everyone.

As for forgetting to repair, people can learn to make it a habit to repair often to lessen bad timings for repair.

They could do something like WoW where you could create craftable repair kits or something.

There's the item wear retarding items in game, tho, too. But like so many other potions, they seem to be just about worthless to perhaps all but the most hardcore players.

I, too, would love to be able to repair others' gear. It would make farms and treasure map parties more streamlined.
