    Change pose during cutscenes?

    Recently got back into this game, having quit around level 30 CNJ in 2016. Bought Shadowbringers, got through MSQ up to the patch notes post ARR, about to enter Heavensward, and having a blast. A ton of quality of life improvements (Glamour system in particular) have made this game an absolute joy to play. However, one thing that bothers me a ton is the default pose for the Male Miqo'te. I'm sure I'm not the only one to point out the weirdness of the pose, with the wide stance, hunched back, and arthritis hands, but normally I just ignore it and only see it during cutscenes due to the changepose command. But, I'm wondering, is there any reason SE doesn't allow our character to use the changepose animation they use in the field in cutscenes? I've heard cutscenes are significantly more cinematic during Heavensward and onward, but I'm just wondering if this is something that's been discussed before. If not, maybe it's something to be considered moving forward? I know people have posted suggestions here in the past, so this was just something I was thinking about.

    Actual cutscenes dictate your character's emotes. Some of the idle poses would look pretty weird if combined with certain emotes or facial expressions. So even if they allowed non-default poses during neutral parts of the cutscenes, you'd be forced back to the default pose in others.

    I agree that the default miqo'te male pose feels kinda tense. As much as I'd like to see more nuanced character control, it would probably be more realistic to adjust the default pose to be more relaxed than to rework cutscenes to allow non-default poses.

    The other thing with idle poses is that you generally have to shift back into neutral stance before performing an emote, which might mess with the timing of cutscene animations, or maybe it just looks a bit messy. Some stances would also affect where the character stands - eg. the more hunched-forward pose for male Miqo'te that could put them very "in the face" of anyone they're speaking to.

    On the "arthritis hands" as you put it, that actually seems to be cat-inspired. If you have a look at a cat's bone structure their 'hand' bones are very folded back like that - the equivalent joint between a human's palm and the base of their fingers is where a cat's foot meets the ground. This page has a diagram and also a photo "trying to approximate" cat paw structure with a human hand and it looks prettymuch exactly how Miqo'te hands are posed.

    (Not that our knuckles can actually bend back far enough to demonstrate it fully. If I'm understanding it right, it's more like if we could fold our fingers a full 90 degrees backwards; the range of motion we have with our wrist - and on top of that, folding the fingertips back again outwards to retract their claws.)

    I always thought it would be great if you could choose your "default pose" from a few poses. Some /changepose poses would work well with it, others not so, but they could make it so that only those which do can be chosen.
    Like when I began playing Au Ra didn't exist and I played a female Miqo'te. I always hated their default pose so I had it set to use /changepose immediately. I also have that setting on my male Au Ra alt, because I don't like their default pose as well.
