    Blu Carnival?

I'm trying to get the blu spells, I've got almost all of the original 49 but to get any more of them I need to pass the carnival. I need to clear it anyway to be able to do the blu plot.

I've looked at guides, and so far none of them seem to actually say enough to help me to be any better.

I'm willing to go learn the new spells in order to pass the old content if there's suggestions that will make things easier on me.

I kind of suspect I might be totally incompetent at blue except in the overworld... I can't even pass stage 4 "gentlemen prefer swords".

To carry on the blu story you only need to do 25, which is clearable with only overworld skills, just make sure you get loom from the B rank in north thanalan and drill cannons also from north thanalan

I can't even pass the 4th one, I'm nowhere NEAR ready to even try the 25th though. That's a massive jump. Maybe if I was stuck somewhere in the teens ... but I clearly suck too much, and thus I think I need a guide that explains things more.

The ones I've found have just said "spam attack spells and white wind to not die" ... and I die anyway, on the first wave of 4, most of the time. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong either.

Nah, trust him, you only need one magical attack, one physical attack (Drill Cannons most often recommended), and Loom, to beat the 25th stage. More spells than that would just make killing him faster, but his difficulty remains about the same, and he's honestly easier than some of the earlier stages, I would recommend you try jumping to him. A lot of the Carnivale stages are really lame "puzzles" that just boil down to "you have this skill?" and you get meme'd on if you don't, so if you're having trouble, just try and contemplate if a skill you have seems oddly fitting for the encounter.

Naa. I found 25 easiert then some of the previous ones. And you don't need to beat the previous ones. Just do 25.

For 25 you don't need white wind. All of his attacks are telegraphed AOE-mechanics, mostly a rotation of "go near/go away" (dragon's voice/ram's voice)and basically just "stay out of orange". For the first act you need to attack with magic spells as he will counter physical spells, on the second act you need to attack with physical spells as he will counter magical spells. And in third he will change from time to time, just watch his debuff. Also he will bind you in third, so you need loom to escape. And that's it.

The carnival isnt a linear difficulty progression, its just 25 vignettes, some harder some easy

hrm, maybe I'm missing some obvious skill to pass #4, but nither of the guides I found actually say what to use.

Okay folks, I'll give 25 a try, someday maybe I'll find some guide that can teach me well enough to get true blue out of it, but for now a pass is good enough.

What exactly are you having problems with on the 4th Stage? I logged on to do it using only skills 1-50 skills, to help you out. I'd suggest bringing Flying Sardine, Glower, Plainscracker, Flamethrower, Bristle, Song of Torment, and if you have them, Eruption, Shock Strike, and Glass Dance. Bristle a Song of Torment onto the wolf in the first stage, and just Glower the bats down to get them out of the way, then Flamethrower the wolf until it's dead, use Eruption and Shock Strike to target their weaknesses and burst them faster if you're still having issues. In the second phase, Glower works wonders on his weakness, so spam that while keeping up Song of Torment and your primal skill ogcds if you have them. Use Flying Sardine to interrupt his Magitek Field cast, and right after, use Plainscracker against all the adds that spawn. White Wind yourself if you're getting low here, and once they're all dead, Kreios should be as good as dead. Just be ready to dodge his Grand Strike AoEs, as they come out fast.

It's not even worth it to deal with the Masked Crap-nival as is. Wait for the long overdue fake difficulty nerf.
