    I think your best choice would be Bard:

    1) More than one Brd can be used in a party, if there are a lot of Brds you could even consider switching to Arc.
    2) Damage is good.
    3) You have utility to back up your party and yourself.
    4) You can be a puller, guide the party through dungeons, get chests if needed while rest of party kills certain mobs.

    Pending any major changes on how SE's content is focused BLM would probably be the best best.

    You only need 1 WHM, 1 Tank(WAR) for nearly everything right now, but BLM/THM is the best class for AV and CC 5-chest speed runs as well as Ifrit and having more than 1 in the group only benefits.

    The most useful job? I thought the whole point of jobs was that they were supposed to be situational not all-rounders.

    sad to see people refer to only war as tank, if your heart is set on tanking, war is great for most current aplications, but nothing survives better then a PLD. just my opinion. but then again I have been testing the crap outa both of em. I like em both but each as its arena.

    Sure, but what do you do when almost all the situations call for the same/similar strategies? Attack from ranged!
