Sudden FPS drop out of nowhere

Greetings.

This has been going on since late November. Without warning, the game starts to slow down 'cause of the sudden drop in FPS. I've never had a problem playing since the beginning, with the graphics at maximum, this is the first time. And it's only with FFXIV! The other games are pretty much nothing wrong with that.

In game, there's sudden drop from my usual 60fps (at maximum settings, borderless windowed mode) to about 8-10fps with the same settings, and only 22-24fps on LOWEST settings possible, regardless of where I am in the game.

Solutions tried:

- Rolling back drivers all the way to oldest available;
- Turning off/on VSYNC and various VSYNC options for FFXIV in AMD Radeon;
- Turning off/disabling overlay programs;
- Uninstalling AMD Radeon Software;
- Trying DX9 instead of DX11 (doesn't even load the game);
- Switching between windowed, borderless windowed, and fullscreen modes;
- Running on a clean start (disabling all startup programs in task manager).

And nothing worked at all.

This situation is really frustrating, 'cause I really love this game for so long. This sudden drop of FPS is happening every time I open the game, without exception, after at least 10 minutes, regardless of the settings within. I really hope you guys can help me with this issue. :'(

So, I tried to change more settings on Radeon Software (updated), and I've found that was using over 100% GPU and overheating as well. Something that never happened before, despite the various settings on software.

Oh, and I have a question: The updates usually make some graphic cards become obsolete over time? Like, from one update to another, this fact change brutally?

So I'm having the same issue. Though I am running nvidia gets 1060 with an intel i5 8750h cpu. At present I believe it's something to do with the recent windows update to 1909.

I get 3 to 5 seconds of decent fps and then 1 or 2 seconds where the fps noise drives right down into single digits. And like the op my gpu sits at 100% usage which is not normal.

Here is a video I recorded of the issue. excuse the overlay and performance monitor in the corner but I recorded this for nvidia technical support. And my laptop was only set on high laptop settings profile. I dropped it from maximum to see if that would help.

I did at one point roll back windows 10 to 1903 and it did work for a while. Bit over Christmas my laptop decided to update itself back to 1909 despite delaying updates and won't let me roll it back to 1903 again. But having to continuously roll it back every few days would not be a solution anyway

Nvidia support team is trying to help but havent gotten anywhere yet.

I apologize for the delay in our response to your concern. What is the exact graphics card you have? Could you attempt a clean boot one more time and then start the game? Once that is done, please provide the system report from after the restart. Additionally have you tried lowering the graphics settings?
