They had set classes in mind regardless of polls; that is usually how development works. Gonna stick by BST, some type of Morpher, Geomancer, Corsair dual wield guns, or a darker version of Puppetmaster.

My reasoning is beyond wanting, because I realistically don't care for Geo, COR, or PUP. However, there are dolls in the game, COR was one of the most popular jobs in XI, and Geo fits perfectly with BST in terms of a nature theme. BST is something they actually commented on by name while discussing limited jobs. Somewhat rare for a team to publicly name a job they have no intentions of implementing, let alone imply the type of job it will be.

Some type of Morpher will also fit in with such a theme. Many state it has been referenced in the game. A lore of people turning into were forms of creatures in the game would be dark and interesting, fitting alongside of something like a PUP of Beastmaster.

I would like RUN but we gotta be realistic here. What makes the most sense based upon their talks and what we know about the current game? We all are speculating, but not sure a poll has any effect on what they will add in terms of development. Balance and mechanics are something they tend to examine a lot.

The mostly likely outcome will be the next job(s) will be something we didn't expect or a different take or amalgamation of mechanics from jobs where we might end up with familiar names but different gameplay and style.

I'd like to see some kind of a DPS knight class that isn't dark-oriented, and uses a lot of shock and sword-based abilities, similar to Agrias in FFT...

... and General Leo in FFVI...

Dark Knights have slow animations, are tanks, and only really fit a dark theme (yes, yes, I know there are a lot of people out there who RP their DRKs as 'light' oriented characters, but the abilities are all very darkness/undead/blood-oriented). I'm looking for something that's DPS-based, more mobile, faster, and has a bunch of the sword-moves above-listed.

    Definitely Chemist or Mystic Knight.

At the least, I hope they add a Minwu themed outfit for casters at some point if they don't do mystic knight (though if they do, I think it should be a phys dps, not a caster in gameplay style. At the least it should be a melee range class even if it's still technically a caster, RDM barely counts in that regard.)

I think the Minwu style could work well for a healer, especially if they decide to go with how he's portrayed in all his art and give the job a sort of magic/mystic shield as a way to channel spells

I'm kinda do the opposite opinion, that MSK should be a primarily a melee caster job first (albeit one with Maiming gear) and a ranged one second if at all, kinda like the antiuthesis of RDM in that aspect

Personally, I'm very skeptical about the addition of MSK. How would that really be any different from Samurai but with visual effects that suggest elemental magic? I mean you could just take Samurai but change midare to "fire blade" and hinganbana to "thunder blade" and the AoE one to "ice blade" or something like that and oh look suddenly you have your mystic knight. They would have to make it unique somehow within the trinity system. A lot of people say something along the lines of "it could be like the opposite of red mage" but for what purpose would a MSK ever go into ranged? MSK's don't actually cast spells, they use elemental magic to strengthen their melee attacks. So either it risks intruding upon RDM's area of expertise by (nonsensically) casting spells at range or it becomes a carbon copy of Samurai but with different names and visual effects.

I have an idea that make them more support oriented to the SAM's selfish DPS, where they would casts 1of 12 runes (based off a certain pantheon) to support the party. Like a melee version of BRD/MCH/DNC/AST, but that could be done at any range. For the ranged attacks we could go with Sword Beams a la certain Legend of Zelda games of Disgaea's Dimension Slash, that consumes a resouce that is obtained by using en buffs and melee combos
