I don't call it ALC when I'm in voice chats with people. Chemist and Alchemist are the same name with 2 letters added for the crafter. I get that people will use the different shortenings making it easier to figure out through text but I could see it creating confusion if it also uses potions as a fighting/healing mechanic I could see that as confusing given both make and use potions. I'm fine with the concept and think it'd be interesting or fun, maybe even funny, to see in action and would appreciate seeing it working. If they can make classes I thought wouldn't work like Red Mage and Dancer, I'm willing to see anything. I just find the naming very similar and could create confusion to new players who are not familiar with shortenings or when things were added. (IE, my new friend can't keep SCH and SMN straight, and doesn't know the crafters from each other so imagine if he had ALC and CHM on top of that when he still thinks RDM was added in HW and MCH was Stormblood)
