Who would you like to see as a Guest Creator for FFXIV?

Naoki Yoshida has mentioned that he has two primary reasons for bringing in guest creators to Final Fantasy XIV: (1) It has a big promotional element that can be used to market new content and (2) to bring in new design ideas outside of the usual development team which would help deliver a new type of experience for players. Judging by development interviews that I've read, it seems like bringing guest creators when possible is something they would like to do looking forward.

Here are some of the guests, both inside and outside of Square Enix, that has developed content for the game:

Yasumi Matsuno - Return to Ivalice
Notable Works: Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII
    Role: Scenario Writer

Keita Amemiya - Return to Ivalice
Notable Works: GARO, Kamen Rider series
    Role: Boss Designer

    Tetsuya Nomura - Eden
Notable Works: Final Fantasy VII-VIII, X, XIII, XV, Kingdom Hearts series
    Role: Character and Boss Designer

Yoko Taro - YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse
Notable Works: Drakengard series, NieR, NieR: Automata
    Role: Scenario Writer

Yosuke Saito - YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse
Notable Works: Dragon Quest X-XI, NieR, NieR: Automata
    Role: Supervisor
I would personally like to see Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy, to be a guest creator to make new original content for the game. It would be interesting to see what kind of original content the father of Final Fantasy could make for a modern Final Fantasy game that he has never worked on before.

For art, I would like to see Hideo Minaba and CyDesignation come in and do some designs for FFXIV. Hideo Minaba previously worked on Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy IX, and Final Fantasy XII. He's currently the artist responsible for the hit series Granblue Fantasy. If anything, I would like to see CyDesignation handle the art direction for future Final Fantasy titles such as Final Fantasy XVI since it's practically a superteam consisting former Final Fantasy artists including Akihiko Yoshida.

Tetsuya Takahashi of Monolith Soft would also be great as either guest artist or scenario writer. He's known for the Xeno series such as Xenogears, Xenosaga, and Xenoblade. He also worked as art director for Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger as well as concept art for Final Fantasy VII. Since Square Enix allowed Tetsuya Nomura to design a character for Xenoblade Chronicles, it would be cool if Tetsuya Takahashi could return the favor and design something for Final Fantasy XIV. Since he's a big fan of mechs, it would be interesting to see him contribute something for PvP such as Rival Wings or something completely new.

Who would you guys like as a guest creator for the game?

Todd Howard, cause I want to see Skyrim get released on the Final Fantasy XIV.

Real answer: Whoever wrote the FFXI:CoP story, that was a really good story and seeing them in charge of something like a 24 person raid story would be cool. Might even give them a reason to do something with Iroha again, since far as I know she's still in Erozea. And since magic and Avatars (Primals) worked so much differently in FFXI vs. FFXIV it would be interesting to see a character like her interacting with the world of Erozea a bit more.

I would like for it be the creator of Final Fantasy for obvious reasons. Others quite honestly need to stay away.

They look way better than the models for Skyrim at least.

So you stayed away from Rathalos, NieR, The Last Remnant gear, and disregard all low key fanservice for other titles in a fanservice mmo? Oh, and let's not forget fan designs. Actually, especially fan designs.

Yeah, that would be interesting. I can't really find the credits for Final Fantasy XI: Chains of Promathia but if I were to make an assumption based on what I saw online then the writer is either Masato Kato or Nobuaki Komoto. If it's Nobuaki Komoto then he wouldn't be considered a guest since he's currently the lead game designer of Final Fantasy XIV and the former director of 1.0 before Yoshi-P stepped in. Masato Kato on the other hand, would be one hell of a guest creator since he worked on Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and Xenogears in addition to Final Fantasy XI when he was with SquareSoft. Kato is currently a freelancer so it would be amazing if he works with the Final Fantasy XIV team!

16 times the detail, and 4 times the size, of fallout 4 with distant weather systems . Just don't let their PR department get with SE's. We don't need the infamous email like stuff " We're sorry you're not happy with the bag..."

My real answer.... I want more Capcom stuff.

A Trial or Raid where you don't fight the bosses, you fight the glitches. Final boss is just called "76" and it's a Missingno mess of pixels. Achievement: "It just works", Title: "Criminal Scum".

CoPs story wasn't just amazing, most of the content it added was too (similar deal with ToAU, those two expansions were really the golden years of that game). Honestly XIV could do to take a lot of ideas from that period in XIs history... They took a lot of mobs and models from CoP for Eureka, but the concepts they took over really didn't match... Give me Limbus, Nyzul Isle, Assaults, etc. not XI coloured FATEs... One of the biggest failings with BA, IMO, was that it tried to mix two concepts that don't mix, you have a Besieged style "world" event, mixed with XIVs utter disdain for making content last more than a few patches... The result? Well now it's unplayable. If it was designed more like Limbus? That would have been great. Something modular, something you work up to earning items to enter a final boss for. Heck my favorite suggestion for something like Hunts in this game is to just point at things like ZNMs and gesture angrily at how horrible Hunts are in comparison... Do people actually like just mindlessly following a train to zerg bosses? I find it so much more satisfying to have something I can work on individually, or with friends, that builds up to something big that requires more organized grouping... That way there's always something I can do, if people aren't on I can farm the lower tier NMs to prepare more higher tier ones for when people are available... There's progression to engage with there, sitting in a train is just mindnumbing in comparison...

That would be an awesome raid fight and title. xD

Agreed 100%. I joined FFXI right at the end of CoP and about a year before ToAU came out, so it was not only my "my first MMO" but also my "my first expansion" and I loved both of them. I was never really a big endgame raider in FFXI, but I was always throwing together things like BCNM 30 "Royal Jelly" or Nyzul Isle runs anytime I had beastcoins/tags to burn. There was never a dull moment for me in FFXI, unlike FFXIV were every time I come back to play I end up getting bored after about 2 month and taking a long break to play other things while new content piles up for a bit.

    Well, since I don't really want to start a full on FFXI vs. FFXIV war on the forums right now I'm going to leave it at that. ^^;
