What do you think of the festival?

Correct me if I'm wrong, for as far as I know the only rewards vendor I found was the "Starlight Supplier" Lalafel

Good things:
- Fun Minigame
- Cute Story

Needs improvement: <- Talking about the lalafel merchant here.
- No Festival mounts
- No Festival Emotes
- No Festival Minions
- No Festival Outfits

On other mmo's I play all these things are available for exchange for festival currency. It always gets me very motivated to do the boring tasks required to obtain festival currency, even if it's a drag and I really don't want to do it, I do it for the items.

On this mmo it is the opposite! I absolutely LOVE the festival games, but end up having lots of tokens to spend on... Well hardly anything of interest.

Really items under 10? BOOOOO! Very disappointing.

I don't think we need a mount or an outfit on every event. We got a mount on halloween and we already got like 5 or more christmas outfits in the past years. I'm fine with getting some housing items and a new outfit for my chocobo this year. And there is also another festival coming right after this one with the new year and more free stuff. And if you are looking for festival outfits, there will be some new ones for valentines day too. And after valentines day is the easter festival right around the corner.

So don't worry, you'll surely get some nice things soon.

I'm not sure I'm allowed to mention names of other mmo's, but in my experience past wearables etc. get released during each new festival, and only the real special stuff like mounts don't get re-released. From what I hear you say, it's like they make 5-8 new items for each festival and then retire them forever? Not really a lot of sense in that, especially since the festival stuff is account bound and cannot be sold or traded to other players.

They're "retired forever" from being available in-game, but sold on the cash shop instead. Generally they're added a year after the original event. (All the cheaper outfits on Mog Station are past event gear, while the expensive ones are the exclusives that have only ever been sold through the shop.) It would definitely be nicer for them to be brought back within the game itself, but they're not lost forever.

I think it was short. That aside, most MMOs I've played have the same holiday on repeat, so where is the excitement to do it year after year? Maybe they add in one or two new items, or a new quest, but its still the same event overall. SE tends to change it up each year, which does utilize resources, so I don't expect a red carpet event every year, but I enjoy the variety.


As far as event items, they are on the mog station typically the week before the new event starts for all the prior year's items, and anything older than that is likely already on there. There's a couple of crossover events and things like that that aren't on there, but most seasonal stuff ends up on the mog station if someone REALLY wants an older item

The main problem is me having too much festival currency with nothing to spend it on, because again, the items can't be sold to other players and I really don't need more than one of each, and since it's so few items, I am just sitting on my festival currency.

Are you able to get a debit card rather than a credit card? It works the same for "paying by credit card" but you can only spend money that you've already placed in the card account.
