    agro agro ....

    Hello everyone

When you see your party mate saying "agro", you know he need raise soon. lol

When mob agro you @ FFXI, you are about to die. especially at low lvls. Some jobs can survive ..

If you got agro, the ppl will tell you "Do your best, don't die" !!! no way, they'll tell you "Die somewhere safe so we could raise you"

You can't risk your EXP and go explorer high lvl zones. You'll wait till you get your chance to explore it safely.

This and all other unforgettable memories remind you "FFXI mobs DO NOT joke"

Myself, I'm missing that feeling ...

    What you all think?

Miss that feeling as well. The world feels tame and boring in the state it is in atm.

I miss the feeling of exploring. You have the map for everywhere automatically in FFXIV. Not to mention certain areas YOU KNOW to absolutely avoid at all costs or you'll get your ass beaten up by mobs.

FFXIV it's more like...walk around a bit...and you've seen all the mobs out there. No matter which new region you explore.

There were a couple of cool moments in FFXIV. Trying to get through a bottle neck of diremites and someone saying, "Insects aggro sound in 11, right? Lets just try WALKING through them. Maybe that will work." And the first time I played ping-pong off the ass end of twelve peists trying to get to a lake so I could find out what grade it was. And... Right. That's about it. Once you've done it once, you've done it.

With XI, there was a continuous feeling of OMFG I'M GONNA DIE. At least, that's what it seems like in comparison, now. Even with sneak/invis I can't count the number of times where I was praying, just praying that it wouldn't wear off until I could... just... get around... THAT corner... Right over... DEAD.

Dare I say it... I do... maybe if death actually MEANT something in this game...

EDIT: I think, for me at least, the biggest issue is that in 11, I rarely felt like I could just stop, and wait for the mobs to make room for me to pass through. You never knew what was behind you, and it could pop out and eat you at a moment's notice. You had to keep on the go, and that meant dealing with what was in front of you. In 14, it seems like that is lost. I know where everything is around me at all times. I have a nifty map that has more detail than I need, and I have a nice little radar that shows every mob and whether or not it is in my FOV.

i miss sneak and invisible! XD i remember exploring zi tah for the first time with my rdm friend when i was a 20rdm. it was absolutely awe inspiring! the atmosphere the music the mobs that dropped all those yummy dark crystals XD and i promised as soon as i hit 40 i was going to get my tail back there and really explore all the nukes and crannies there were to offer. in 14 i still find myself doing the same thing. i love each of the areas, but it is true. the mobs seem somewhat copy pasted and re-dyed. i know in certain cases thats not the case in some of the more dangerous areas you can find some MEAN little monsters but once you've seen one colybrn, you've seen them all. same can be said for alot of the other mobs. maybe later with expanded content we can find more diversity in our growing erozea but until then i'm happy exploring one area after another. btw...if any alchemists have discovered the recipe for snk and inv.....

I miss using Sneak and Invisible or the potion alternatives to explore places i have no business being in, now on FF14 dying has no consequences other than going back to your last aetheryte or node and being weakened for 3 minutes, i don't miss the exp loss though lol

I don't miss XP loss, that's for sure. But I -do- miss the fact that I REALLY didn't want to die in 11. How many of us would get aggro in 11 and KNOW we weren't going to make it to the zone line? How many of us mages prayed that stoneskin wouldn't get interrupted so we could try anyhow? How many of agonized over whether to stop long enough to cast a cure, a regen, or a blink, instead of just going? How many of us knew we would aggro half the wights running from Pug Alley to the tower and did it anyhow? How many of us bowed down and kissed the feet of some crafter farming elementals after they snagged the wight with a dia or a 'voke?

Would add that feeling of exploring if SE implemented a "fog" on the map, need explore to unlock the section of map. Will help people with the feeling of adventure giving the need to explore. to find new parts. little mystery goes along way... for some at least. few hidden monsters. like the Chigoes *sp run by them. then OMG.. crap.. next time through.. you are little most conscious where u travel.
