Rathalos EX - Solo?

I was just wondering if anyone has soloed this yet, now that they allowed it to be unsynced, and if so on which job and what level of gear etc?? I get tired of waiting hours to find a group and my FC has awesome people but I'm very driven and wish to get the mount sooner thanks!

You might wanna give people more than 5 hours during the night to respond.
But yeah, it almost certainly is not soloable yet. In fact it won't be soloable at all until you can kill the add at the transition in like 5 seconds.

Currently impossible to solo since you would have to kill the transition add in less than 5 seconds to avoid the 9999999 damage. It would also take you ages to keep staggering and downing it solo. It takes 4-5 min with a party of 4 wailing at it, solo would probably take you at least 4x that amount of time and you only get 10 megapotions.

Was gonna say I don't think you can hit phase 2 currently unless you're with another person to help kill the add in time right now. Since someone would need to mount to bide time, and you can't do anything else while you're mounted.

I'd still say two is the norm currently either to the end of the expac or the beginning of 6.0 due to the IL/Lvl gap.

Phase 2 can be reached with insane burst (like 5s), the job I did it on was WAR (Inner Release -> INF(Inner Chaos) -> Upheaval + Onslaught -> INF(Inner Chaos) -> Fell Cleave.

The issue is filling the down gauge in phase 2 to actually deal damage afterwards. It fills with amount of attacks done afaik (or damage, no idea) and alone it takes way too long and you eat through 3x Mega Potion due to having to deal with the stack. Assuming you do down it once or twice in a fight, your burst overall isn't good enough to kill it on your own and due to some bug I didn't know existed (I die solo -> could stand up again though) I was able to see that Rathalos EX also comes with an actual Enrage (phase transition fire attack but without corpse on ground).

As you said, 2 players is the bare minimum you can do Rath Ex with (done already) unless our bursts become so strong that in two Down windows we can kill it.

Impossible. He enrages in phase 2 when too slow.

The other problem with this is the stack mechanic in EX. You’ll get destroyed by it(even when using Megapotions or are a Tank with an invuln) before you even get to begin.

Tanks can solo the stack markers, even sync'd. I know there was a strategy when it was new to run 3 tanks and a healer so that you'd only have to stack up when the healer was targeted. As long as you aren't getting hit excessively by rathalos, you would be able to probably get by with the potions.
