    Dear Square Enix (dancer request)

Please allow Closed Position to alternate between two people. Currently, re-activating closed position removes the buff on your previous dance partner. Allowing dancers to manage a buff on two different party members would make the class feel a lot more involved and supporty, similar to how astrologian feels when throwing out sleeve draw. Ultimately I feel like this would be a really positive change to the classes playability, along with allowing it to eek out a little bit more damage.

I don't really want to have to switch dance partners mid battle. However I do think having to hit the button twice to change partners if your partner dies or you partner the wrong person is bad. I also think Saber Dance should have a chance to give you a feather proc.

Recently came back to the game and exlusively playing Dancer (lvl68) now. While I've been enjoying the job a lot, I feel some kind of a twist is missing from the rotation and/or supporting tools. Switching the dancing partner quickly mid-fight sounds like an interesting idea, which could give more room to higher skilled players and better coordinated groups in regards to synchronizing the support + bigger cooldowns. I think that would be fairly easy to balance, too.

Kind of an off topic question, but do any other Dancers find the step gauge kind of pointless? It doesn't provide any kind of unique information which could not be found from somewhere else.

The Step Gauge lets you look ahead to know what order to press the buttons in instead of waiting till after you have pressed the button to know which button is going to come next.

When i play my dancer im bored. So yea id love easier closed position switching, cause it would allow party specific and burst management to optimize.

To do this they'd likely have to nerf DNC a bit in other areas, because atm its designed that way for balance.

2.0 Veteran from 2013. Just looking to be helpful. DRK is Love, DRK is life.

(Ignore the levels on my character card, the tool i used to make it hasn't been updated for 4.0)

hmm lately I came a cross another discussion idk what I should thinking of... the ls discussion was about different buffs for different dancer partner roles like haste/cd reduce on range partner, dmg & Crit bonus on melee partner, cast & mp reduce on caster. they startet talking about blu mimes ending up discussing buffs for dance partner...

personally I think its pretty hard to handle different buffs in balance but it could be interesting no?

To me think they need just get rid of it all together. Most time use it partner is to far away to receive the affects to it.

Perhaps it's just me and the way I play DNC, but in EX fights, that's the hardest content I do, trying to juggle 2 buffs between 2 different players would seem overly busy with everything use I'm doing. Thus even if they let you bounce between 2 players I don't think I would.

Coming from a person who has done Savage, DNC definitely does not need an extra layer of complexity for no reason. Doing that would instead increase the gap where they reduced it; see Heavensward for example, where a good amount of jobs got complex because of buff bars and openers. Same can be said of Stormblood in some cases(Samurai, Ninja, MCH)
