I've searched Google and now feel like I'm the only person on this rock we call a planet that thinks Y'shtola waifu material. What is it about her that turns everyone off?

She's made it clear she's not interested in a relationship. She makes no efforts to flirt, and her character is all business.

On the flipside, she's come around to being one of our stronger allies/guardians, even among the scions. There have a been a few times where characters have started making plans that involve the WoL and she's said "hol' up s/he is right there, maybe s/he could weigh in on this ask that will may prove fatal?".

I think the biggest reason folks have trouble picking out Waifus from FFXIV, is that most of the prominent female characters are WOMEN, rather than GIRLS. The HUGE majority of popular Waifus on the 'net fall into the age range of 14-18 (or, at least, are physically 14-18).

The reason is exactly the opposite, why people don't have one. It is exactly because the female characters they try to make the WoL attracted to ARE underage. And luckily most people here don't seem creepy enough for that.

I have/had the biggest crush on Yotsuyu. I went totally gaga over Scathach, and pre-martyr Minfillia was total bae. Fran is up there too, but I don't really consider her a true FFXIV character. Other than that, not a whole lot of ladies of FFXIV really stand out in this regard. There are many I adore though like Krile, Tataru, Cirina, Kan E Senna, Alisaie, just to name a few.
