Are there any waifu threads around here?

This thread made me realize that I don’t find any of the female FF14 characters attractive, or waifu material, so to say.

This.

• Kan-E-Senna is a Padjal and implied to be older than she appears, possibly older than any of the main cast. We also don't see really see her in a personable light, only as the speaker for Gridania. (Missed opportunities to see her as a big sister to Raya and A-Ruhn).
• Merlwyb's hat is that she is a badass pirate admiral. And that's it. We don't see her in any other light.
• Nanamo is the only one of the three OG grand company leaders who is fleshed out.
• Minfillia was only really seen as the boss for pretty much all of her screentime, not really personable.
• Y'shtola couldn't care less.
• Yugiri is wholly devoted to serving her Lord Hien. I can't see her being "distracted" from that.

So... I guess it comes down to waifu material, it's Nanamo and Alisae, and maybe Krile? Then again, given their stature and appearance, Westerners are probably going to go "eww no".

If you're into husbandos, however, FFXIV has you covered. You got brooding bad boy Thancred, the personable Aymeric, confident and charismatic Hien, and your pick between two handsome silver foxes: Raubahn and Gosetsu.

Looking at FFXIV in general and fan impressions, while more people play female characters, there are more noteworthy husbando than waifu. You have fans of characters like Y'shtola or less extent Merlwyb; I am big on Mom-E-Senna myself, though really the characters getting fanart, crushes, etc. are your Crystal Exarch, Emet-Selch, Haurchefant, Aymeric, etc. Even a mid-tier daddy like Thancred has more people frothing for him more than a lot of the major female characters.

As someone who is bisexual I'll take all of them.

Like someone said, the game sadly doesn't have many female characters you get close enough to. Y'shtola could be one on Thancred level, but both aren't very close.
Hilda is a good mention. I guess I had a thing for Tsuyu but that's also not very personal and we all know how that ended. Ysayle maybe? I'm just realizing the good female ones don't last. :/

For males, there's indeed a long list. My favourites were always Aymeric and Hien, but now Ardbert surpassed them a lot.

And...Khloe really? That's a marriage life of eating pinapple pudding, and not even every day. :P

I've searched Google and now feel like I'm the only person on this rock we call a planet that thinks Y'shtola waifu material. What is it about her that turns everyone off?

Irretrievable loss of the pants in the relationship, probably.

Zhloe's a decent choice for waifu, I guess. Cute. Runs an orphanage. Of legal age, if barely.
