How's the new ninja holding up?

I haven't really seen any threads on the class lately.
People were complaining on how bad the numbers were constantly but ever since the "small rework" I have not seen much.
Is the job finally satisfying to the majority of players now?
Personally I loved the new changes, once I got use to the new changes I feel like the class is much more smooth, and easier to understand.

Yeah ninja's pretty good now. It's no Summoner or Black Mage but it's on par with the other melee. Looking at 95th percentile (high enough where they're good, not so high as to be a bunch of lucky crits and whatnot), at its worst it's about 4% behind Samurai, who is the highest melee in most Savage fights (except on E1S, where it's actually Ninja due to fight timings.)

It's currently the reigning champion in Ultimate, though there's only 42 Ninja parses for TEA so that's quite potentially a fluke. Also keep in mind any group clearing TEA is pretty coordinated and competent, so they're getting a lot out of Trick Attack that most groups will not.

If someone wins an argument, they have learned nothing.

Playstyle wise: bursty and still lots of buttond to press, highest apm still but by a smaller margin. But has 40 seconds of rather boring downtine between tricks. Smoother, but sks not effecting a large portion of now gcds is dissapointing.

RDps wise we are the weakest melee. But only by a small margin. SAM, SMN arr a bit overpowered really so honestly we are doing pretty good.

Its true we have seen value in TEA that may be due to our burst aoe ordinance. Which trust me. If done right we have serious burst aoe.

In the more data reliable eden we are the lowest melee. Which and only behind blm and smn outside of melee.

I personally think the playstyle is a bit slower now than i would have liked.

As far as I can tell from reading past threads, it seems like the community is split into 3 groups in regards to the NIN changes: Those who love it, those who hate it, and those who likes some changes, but hates the others. Though, everyone agrees that the TenChiJin changes are great, and that the SHadow Fang and weaponskill combo changes suck.

Personally, I'm in the mixed bag corner. I love how ping friendly it is, I love how I can now smoothly cast mudras, and can actually do a decent opener without having my ping mess up my mudras. But, I don't like how much slower it has become, how it leaves me with a lot of downtime between gcds when not doing my burst phase, I don't like the removal of the positional on Trick Attack, and I don't like its lack of difficulty outside of bursting mid boss mechanic bonanza. What would make me happy is if they kept how ping friendly it is, but made the gcd more scaleable with skill speed (to give the players the option of either going slow or fast), fixed our weaponskill combo back to what it was in Stormblood (forgive me, but I wasn't playing this game back in ARR and Heavensward), and add some more ogcd to use during that in-between Trick downtime, then I would be a happy ninja.

Just an in case you didn't know, (you might already)
Trick attack is still positional for your personal potency boost, but the debuff vulnerability up is no longer tied to positional. So its not entirely gone, and missing the backstab is a 150 potency loss.

Rather like the new Ninja. Might not have an ethernet connection all the time so if I travel it's more feasible to play over Wifi. The greater emphasis on Ninjutsu is rather fun and feels less janky. Did get the Ninja to 80 before 5.1 to get a point of comparison; I prefer the newer version where the Ninjutsu hits much harder even at the cost of OGCD.
