    [Request] Can we please see a permadeath game mode added?

    I think it'd be pretty cool if a special game mode was added where enemies deal more damage and if a character is killed, they're dead permanently. This wouldn't be wise to implement on anybody's main character, but for alt characters I think it'd work very well - and the community could come together to try and complete as much content as possible without letting their character perish.

    There could even be a leader-board to tally achievement points earned on the applicable character, inducing an element of friendly competition.

    It'd make for a cool main feature for a future content patch, I think.

    I'd support this under the following caveats:

    -First, an on/off toggle. When you turn on the toggle, you will have to confirm TWICE that you are aware that once this character dies, it's perma killed

    -Second, perma death does not work in any instances, even undersized options and whatnot.

    -Lastly, as an expansion to what Theo mentioned about leaderboards, it must be fully fleshed out in the form of its own content. It can have a map dedicated to see how long a character can last, maybe even do some sort of survival challenge where you can find gear and level it and the whoooole shebang.


    So yeah, for once, I'm calling out your eccentric idea Theo and turning it on it's head. Either it comes truly and whole-fully fleshed out or it's just not worth anyone's time, whatsoever.

    Then you can get rid of all pvp in the game because that's only way to win in it. Good luck with getting in any instances because queue times would be hours long and may never pop. Wait there is better way just delete your character and start over.

    Yeah, a toggle would make sense. I'm sure the development team could flesh out the idea further and put their own twist on it all.

    I think a decent amount of people would partake, challenge runs are fairly popular in a number of games.

    I mean, maybe if combat were actually entertaining at the earlier levels, especially given how much this condition would devalue risk-taking...

    Until then, I don't see why it'd be fun even as a challenge run, since it wouldn't be "challenging" so much as just in need of a steady connection and a premade team to avoid the risk of incompetents.

    The fun is in the adrenaline. Like when you play as Hunk in Resident Evil 2 and have to rush through a gauntlet of enemies and survive.

    In this case, other players would be either a blessing or a curse. Adding a neat random element to it all!

    Adrenaline requires risk. Permadeath doesn't actually necessitate risk, however, unless one has an unstable connection or goes into very particular fights while teamed with people who can PK you or while the whole party is undergeared. It just means playing at a less intense pace as not to be killed by something stupid. The risk mitigation would rarely be a part of combat so much as a limitation on which content is worth doing.
