I'd rather we get our normal number of dungeons as opposed to less cause I enjoy and do dungeon content alot.
I'm gonna be upset if we lost a dungeon for the ishgard stuff or some rp housing thing.
Hopefully this expansion doesn't feel like SB cause in SB it felt like we got slot less then arr or hw with content, but so far SHB has given lots of content but hopefully it don't decrease and feel less like SB.

Whether you're happy with the change or not, it's worth keeping in mind that we don't really know what this means for a shifting of resources and labour. It's pretty unlikely that the devs who do dungeon and encounter design are the same ones who housing or glamour or fishing, for instance. If they're shifting devs off of dungeon creation it's more likely that those same devs would now be working on something similar.

If we get more content because of this, I'm more than ok with only 1 dungeon. Anyway, I will still get The Twinning for my daily EX roulette.
I'm really excited for 5.2 ! New dungeon, new MSQ, new relic, 2 trials with a ?new mode? New raid tier, new beast tribe, a lot of DoL/DoH content.
And umbrellas.
I can't wait.

I think this week was the first time I capped my tomestones through dungeons since late in Stormblood. I spend more time in leveling dungeons than I do in expert ones since most of the time I'm playing on an 80 job I'm doing something else like hunts or treasure maps or raids or extremes or New Game+. There are a lot more things to do a combat class now then then back in ARR when we got three dungeons a patch. I don't want them to completely stop adding dungeons in the patches since I do enjoy them but one a patch seems fine to me if we are going to be getting other things in exchange.

I will gladly trade 1 normal dungeon each patch for focus on more Treasure Hunt content. For the successor to Eureka, how about every zone having a public raid/dungeon instead only the last one like with Hydatos.
Or give us a third Rival Wings map, make adjustments to Astragalos and put all three maps in a rotation queue similar to Frontline, with a daily bonus.

I'm not terribly excited about the patch either, for different reasons.
To address dungeons. Dungeons, in their current form, are the biggest waste of development money. They are consumed very quickly, are not challenging in the slightest, and the lion's share of them are abandoned unless you happen to get them in a leveling roulette. I also love dungeons, so don't think I'm hating on them, but because they're so under utilized, until something like a Mythic+ system comes in, we're better off with less.
As for the rest of the patch: while the content appears good, it's all content that will be consumed within a week, and if you care to do it more than once, you'll be done within a couple hours on subsequent reset nights. This is my biggest problem with FF XIV right now. It's an amazing game, but very little, if any, of the content has any longevity, and it's certainly not enough to justify the $12.99 USD sub.
I really wish we would see more not mind-numbing boring content (looking at you Eureka and Deep Dungeon) that lasts more than a couple hours.

I was concerned back in HW when they announced they were cutting back from three dungeons per patch to two.
I'm concerned again now that we're going from two to one.
Truth be told I don't need dungeons to cap any more but I think there a lot of players that still rely on them and may not have time to sink into other content. SE seems to be moving towards providing lots of different niche content these days and I wonder if there's a large general audience getting left behind. I suppose SE has metrics suggesting otherwise.
