I hate forced freelancer and it has probably killed Frontlines for me. So far I've had really negative experiences. Would much rather queue for an hour to play a match with people who know what they're doing and want to actually play correctly. Rather than queue for 5 minutes and be forced to try and carry a bunch of people who don't care to organize, listen to instructions, or work as a team.

And that right there, summed up exactly how this happened. Because everyone would gravitate to the GC that had the most competant players, when enough leeches would follow suit, the good players would simply swap again or freelance knowing full well any team is better than their own GC. Exactly the spiral Adders went down in the space of literally a week.

Now it's a roulette, exactly as it is in basically any other decent MMORPG. Further to this, your negative experience is likely compounded by the fact S14 started today and every half decent player has gone to go and farm rating for that mount instead. There isn't a single Feast vet in Frontlines atm, the vast majority of whom would listen and call.

This is never going to change until they change the way rewards are earned in PvP. Because the majority of them are based on wins, that tells the community 'winning is all that matters' and naturally people are going to find a way to win that works regularly and keep using it until it doesn't.

CG isn't the issue and the reason they aren't abolished completely is because the lore of that entire part of the game rests on them. Its the whole premise basically.

Until rewards and achievements are keyed to elements like regular participation and earnings there will always be abuse of the system. It will likely be there anyway but with rewards available that anyone can get so long as they are willing to grind, I see the abuse as less of an issue.

What would be great is the introduction of squaron type pvp where you order hordes of npcs to fight on your behalf. But I doubt we'll see that during the lifetime of this game.

Let's sum up just one random sampling of OH today, the first day of the forced randomization.

Three people talking down to the other 21, not in a constructive or helpful way... One swearing at everyone in alliance chat (note, I don't care what words people use, but time and a place - and with 23 random strangers when people report for less it's just not smart), One spamming sound effects with no other text just for attention when they weren't even saying anything, and the third who kept complaining about how in FLAMES they didn't chase.... while they were constantly dying from chasing and the rest of their group was trying to stay together.

Is it helpful to have someone make callouts to try to organize? Absolutely.

    But <se.11>
    Having <se.11>
    Every <se.11>
    Line <se.11>
    Of <se.11>
    Text <se.11>

    This just looks like tantrum throwing. Pure and simple. Thankfully I'm only in it for the currency. -_-;

It's how it came across in the run also.

Hoping holidays are just putting people in weird moods or something and maybe some normalcy will come back.

It has been an interesting exercise in hubris in watching people try to process the fact they are meant to be losing over half of their frontlines games. They spent so long stacking on the GC carrying them to victory that they forget a lot of the enemy teams had people way better than them but had to deal with people who don't listen, who are new, or just not very good at the game. Now you can experience the reality of a completely open, mass PvP system with no MMR algorithm to distribute skill, where no matter how good or bad you play you will lose frequently. On one hand I blame the game's mounts and UI for emphasizing purely first place victories, but for the most part any mewling is going to be people with a pretty poor attitude not conducive to anything constructive. Temper your self esteem and stop being so misanthropic. People are going to suck and that's OK.

Let this be an exercise in humility.

Ya it’s great running around having to remember what team your on, when your used to just playing as one faction, completely unenjoyable experience.

The achievements are like any other grind, you get there eventually. I haven’t ever been interested in freelancer and it being forced is a big negative.

Yes. The awesome burden of having to remember which of three colours you are delegated and where you spawn is very unenjoyable. It's simply tragic.
