How are you supposed to beat certain Masked Carnivale fights?

Apparently BLUs damage has been significantly nerfed and "suicide spells" aren't useful for clearing certain fights such as 13. Also there's the minion on 15 that berserks and there's no way to get him down fast enough before he kills you. So what exactly am I supposed to do since all the videos on Masked Carnivale have outdated strats that don't work anymore?

That fight in particular, Acorn Bomb, Tail Screw, and Flying Sardine will deal with that.

Spam a 220 potency move, use Acorn Bomb on the add when it appears, wait for its buff to disappear, focus it down.

Maybe takes away some of the mystery but I think they should have some of the obviously required spells put into a hint box you can click on or something. . . There are a few fights that are a waste of your time unless you have X spell, which can be a frustrating experience if you're not aware of that skill lol.

I've other comments, like they should probably be a bit less of an hp sponge and have check points but maybe a thread for another time.

I'd say blue mage was lightly buffed, and when you get primal spells (a giant pain unless you sync), and so it's more so that only specifically the spam of suicide spells was taken away (which ideally I'd like for blue mage to push into kit building and figuring out neat interactions rather than "kill myself to win" lol).

What confuses me is that I see people in YT videos doing three times the damage I'm capable of. (No, I do not have Mighty Guard turned on!)

It doesn't make any sense to me what they're doing because they aren't doing anything I'm not doing.

Either you're exaggerating or they're doing something you're not doing. Even as simple a thing as using a spell of the same potency but not the same element can produce drastically different outcomes.

Yes to both. Spells are literally doing half as much damage as they were last week.

Doing Hakkue Manor right now to get L5 Petrify because that spell refuses to drop. Last week I was doing a bit over 1200 to Maidservants with Sticky Tounge + Sharpened Knife. Today I'm doing just under 600.

The damage has clearly been nerfed across the board.

Sounds more like you're failing to land the spell while the stun's active than anything else. They didn't touch the potency of the skill within the last week, and as I recall the last time they did it was buffed. That said, doing less than half the damage is in line with not getting the stun bonus potency.
