Any word on when we will get an Auction House?

I see no reason why they couldn't exist side by side but at the same point, I don't see a need for one if you have the other. Unless the auction house has some unique properties like being global and having unique penalties associated with it, it would be almost identical to the market ward system we have now.

At launch I could see the need for it, the wards sucked. Now the wards are functioning as I think they were intended to so there's not a lot of need at this point.

Name one that came before it that had a functioning auction house?

I was pretty sure there hasn't been one, theres always been a "Open Market" where you sat your character for a while to sell stuff.

Keep in mind AO's doesn't count because it wasn't usable before XI came out in japan with theirs 0.o

I agree with the former statement somewhat. We do have a basic, featureless AH, just with walking - the twist itself died when the original Wards concept was destroyed with the addition of a search function.

I really hope they don't add chocobos, quests, airships or cutscenes, though, since they were invented in an earlier game.

Well that's cool, you like market wards but some of us prefer auction house. We like to save our time and just run over AH and purchase things. I agree, it's much easier now then before but still. I don't see why we can't have both, if the item isn't listed in wards well you have a second place to look "Auction House".

Market Wards upgrades have made it better than an Auction house in my opinion. Hopefully it NEVER turns into the old FFXI auction house system!

Can i know the process of FFXI AH, is it similar to AH in WoW? where once you got the item you need to wait an hour to receive it?

The AH in XI is essentially the same as wow. The only major differences are the following

No Search Feature, all items are static so you can just pin down categories and see the items in that category.

IE
Equipment > Armor > Helmet shows all helmets and sorts them any variety of ways.

When you buy an item it logs the transaction for 10 consecutive transactions so theres a price history.
and you get it instantly in your mailbox.
