I just never understand why people care about this stuff... I never had. Does the game winning anything change how I play it? No, and if it does then that person wasn't very invested anyway. At the same time, I don't think SE cares as much cause if they did, they'd paid like Epic did to make an impression and make an 8 minute ad.

I don't care about the award itself but more what it represents which is acknowledgement of how far xiv's come, the struggles the devs faced getting xiv to where it's at. That's what I mostly care about so in my POV, awarding it to a game everyone knows about that didn't really struggle to get where they are it's akin to a slap in the face of the devs. That's how I view it.

Fortnite got lucky, xiv actually had to earn it's playerbase by working hard.

That I can understand and agree with honestly so no harm there. Tho while I do agree fornite got lucky those devs work hard too. All devs do, so I didn't want to make it like only SE devs work hard for their game. Tho yeah I do know what you mean. Tho to be extremely fair, Fornite failed at first too. Remember it used to be a buy to play PVE game about zombies if I remember correctly. That part of the game bombed hard. It was the battlegrounds mode that saved it from the graveyard.
