    [dev1032] Stamina.Improvement or Step back?

    While i am currently very accustomed to using stamina by now,I Always thought a "stamina" bar was more from an action orientated game rather than a rpg .

    I have even made suggestions to make the combat more "action orientated" based on how stamina works plus a few extra points.

    Right now im kinda split about stamina.I play glad , and i find myself most of the time measuring my stamina over anything else.Specially at times when i must hold-hate-no-matter-what, i stop doing anything, because im afraid to need the stamina and have used it on a heavy stab.Sure we have couple of hate moves that dont use stamina , but thats not the point.

    I only put glad as an example, i have experimented this same problems all over the classes.

    Im watching my stamina bar over everything else.I play with a controler and i end up pressing the action commands so slowly to conserve stamina it gets kinda boring after a while.

    I would love to hear ideas on the subject , i find it peculiar there is not a thread about this already .If there is , my apologies.

    I personally think that stamina is a extra and unnecessary limiter on every thing except the base attacks.

    Hi, i hit things with an axe.

    Every single one of my moves takes:
    1. Stamina
    2. TP
    3. Has a cool down

    It's like they smashed together every WoW class defining energy bar.
    It's all so very unnecessary.

    Onto stamina+ auto attack compatibility

    I can see stamina and auto attack existing together if they go the following route. stamina costs are striped completely from every action that has the limiter of tp mp or a timer. The 1 slot is changed from the basic attack to a auto attack toggle. Attack Speeds are assigned to each weapon this background damage and tp generation is free of stamina cost as well as continuing to proc while being qued up for a battle regimen. basically your character is always doing something.

    Stamina would still be burned by the execution of secondary attacks or actions such as throw, guard, heavy slash/stab, broad heavy and full swing ect. These would be at will actions with a hard limiter on there use from stamina costs. Tp balances its self out a bit with the current system of accruing it. basic attack damage + math magic = amount of tp gained. now when you are fighting a higher ranked mob the amount of tp you gain takes a dramatic swan dive because you are not throwing out as much damage from your basic attacks.

    Now let me throw that all into a blender and extract an example of what I'm blathering on about.

    Lets say you and a group of friends are out beboping around. All of a sudden the rare and notorious nasty one eyed albino spriggan appears. Jumping at this opportunity for fame and riches your group engages. Every one engages there auto attack and start to nickle and dime the mobs hp while gaining a bit of tp at regular intervals. Wanting to get this bugger down as quickly as possible melee's begin to use there secondary attacks burning stamina for extra damage and to gain tp at a faster rate. Even the mages can get in on the raw dps action by activating auto attack using the sub target reticle that people seem confused about for healing/buffing while staying focused on the spriggan of doom and tossing out the odd radiance/damnation or levinbolt/flashfreeze and using the fireworks we generally haul them along for.

    Now the wrenches in the works comes from archer and the boogeyman of the targeting systems current oddness when it comes to subtargets. The mechanics of multi shot would have to be changed, I am also a bit hesitant to force archer and future ranged classes into a full-auto mode due to the inherent costs of munition use.

    If they add auto attack they can probably remove stamina I would say. Just lower the tp gain per hit and make it similar to the FFXI system where TP limits the amount of WS you can do in a row.

    I see nothing wrong with the system though as it is.

    I agree stamina + auto attack would be definitely be awkward .
    edit; i wonder if the devs mind on the subject is auto attack (yes) = stamina (no)?¿.
    personally never cared about auto attack , but now that you say it it would be difficult to introduce it with stamina , or at least i would think so.If the solution to get rid of stamina is an auto attack i would welcome it.

    Would be cool if it increased as your rank/P.lvl got higher. But it doesnt... same for the item slots (rings,necklace, braclets).. Its just under-developed, like a lot of the systems.

    If they just showed some sort of progression, like..
    "Hey I got rank45, I can now do 10 attacks in a row with out fully depleting my stanima bar! {All Right!}"

    "Awesome R30 my item slots are at 15/15 now!"

    Think people, and typically rpg players, enjoy when they broaden their own horizons through time and effort.
