that is more like "haso" than haste really,on the speed part.Haste is a spell. Also there is a common weapon delay for all weapons , stamina and how you use it.So its not really a weapon delay , is more of a class delay .Depending on what atack/how much stamina it uses. I agree is similar but not rly the same. There already is weapon delay. There already is haste. Look at LNC polearms, there are some that are same level, but have different attack strengths. One of them the stamina bar moves slightly faster, the other moves slightly slower. "Speed surge" is haste for LNC, and could easilly be added as gear effects or spells.
I'm not saying im for or against stamina, just pointing out these things are in there already.

Remember guys the "Slow" spell is already in-game, i'd be damned if Tanaka didnt plan in making 'Haste' a THM R50~60 spell, and possiblty a CNJ alternative. And going by what we know from slow in game currently, Im sure haste would allow for uber spam of the 1 key... (nice one tanaka. lol.)
But like my first post, I doubt that whats ppl want to do.
Who knows, now the servers have been down and (hopefully between contacting family and preparing for the worst) they have had time to continue day-to-day work on the games patches, we might even come back to the first patch on the battle system..
Not expecting anything, but I wouldnt be suprised either.
Either way. Im sure Yoishi-p, as a FFXIV player, knows what needs to be done. Its not rocket science, its flipping idiotically simple.
Progression, progression, progression.
I know I <3 a game changer.
Sub jobs at lvl18? - game changer
Special equipment at lvl50+ (AF,etc) - game changer
Special weapons at lvl75+ - yep
Job changing abilities the higher up you go... (Convert, Divine veil, err cba.. there are loads)
Its simple lol. The current systems could be made way more involving than they are, but it seems they want/need to change them. I dont know personally, simple improvements could go along way, but a fundamental one could also be nice..

A fundamental one such as getting rid of stamina i think it would be welcome from most of the community .Remember guys the "Slow" spell is already in-game, i'd be damned if Tanaka didnt plan in making 'Haste' a THM R50~60 spell. Although im not so sure about yoshida knowing what needs to be done , since the "new team" updates been rather into the "we dont really needed that" category , but ill keep that for another discussion.

I sure hope they don't do away with stamina. The stamina bar and lack of auto attack is the thing i like best about FF14's battle system. I honestly found 11's battle system to be the most boring part when i played a DD job... Because all you do is sit and wait as you build tp... then use your buff macros, then your ws macro... then sit and wait... then do it again... then sit and wait... then sit and wait... and wait... and wait... get the point? It was boring. Lol
Thankfully i was Nin/Drk tank as my main job, so i didn't have to "sit and wait" as often as DD classes did. I actually had stuff to do.
Also, the spell haste was dat mined. It's in the game, sort of... But it's a con spell for like r60-99 or so.

Everyone in FF14 is a combo of FFXI's ranger and blue mage lol. Ive played this way for too long :P
I tanked as nin/drk.. rdm/nin.. DD'd as rng/sam, healed as rdm or whm. There were plenty of interesting roles to fill outside of spam macro 1/2/3
which is what this game needs.
(Also, Id be interested to know - what rank does the dats say we go upto? - since FF11 was originally built around lvl255 being the highest cap.)
lol ^^

There are skills out that go all the way to 99 in the dats currently. Example:
http://ffxiv.yg.com/skill/blood-rite-iii?id=28464
And yea... Even RDM fell victim to mindless repetition in party-play on 11. Cure... Cure... Debuff... Haste... Refresh.. Cure some more. Every MMO out there is all about spamming a few choice abilities/spells. It sucks, but it's true. I played every job except lolpup, so I'm not talking from an unexperienced point of view here. The battle mechanics on 11 encouraged the same simple rotations you see on games like WoW. You use the same abilities repeatedly until the boss dies.

And NO game will be any different. You just cant change the fact that you will be spamming abilites lol... I simply cant think of a way. There are skills out that go all the way to 99 in the dats currently. Example:

Same shit as:
(log in) (make party) (grind) (disband) (log off)
Get up clean yourself, go to work, dread work, go home, go to bed

And my point about XI's battle system was that nothing was ever handed to you. People learnt, developed and evolved within that system, and thats what kept it interesting.
Hell, I remember the rise of war/nin back in 05' lol. This game needs stuff like that
Currently we know all there is about the classes and how to work them "rank every think to 50, get affinity for everything".. is the current prevailing idea...

Thank you, Captain Obvious.
See below:
It's not even just about MMO's... It's about any RPG game... And even any FPS/RTS game out there. If there's a boss in an FPS game, 9/10 times there's a "shoot this part of the body with this weapon" mechanic... Which ultimately is the same concept. Falling into patterns.
