Remember to log off dressed properly.Half the time I'm arguing the other half I'm being sarcastic, and having fun. I hardly read them, I skim through most of them (which is probably blatantly obvious). Then I got threatened in this thread as well. Now I am an idiot, because I am not a programmer.
At this point I hope SE doesn't cave and claim it was a "bug". There is no bug with the butt, all it is is trimmed back down to vanilla dimensions. This is so overblown. the 2b bottoms have been called a "feature" too. It still works with everything but long tops. It's just all the "ruined glams". Look I don't care what people wear, but panties from the 80's aren't tasteful on most of those "glams". Sweater and a thong. Can you imagine that? That combination makes literally no sense. Glams gotta make sense!
I won't be able to argue for a few days anyway. I need to renew my sub on a later date, bad pay period. I'll have to lurk.
Pants and dresses are totally prohibited.
Yamete kudasai owo.
I was tempted to log off with those bottoms on, make some raunchy glam, I'd probably get somebody calling me a hypocrite again, maybe linking my characters lodestone picture! I actually got kicked out of the game, so I can't even log back in. Don't gotta worry, I am wearing short shorts, and a tank top. No 2b bottoms though, those look awful.
Real talk though, I do actually think the 2b bottoms look awful. I have a grand total of one glamour plate with a glam I made for ninja using them - which still work. There are like very, very few cases where I think those bottoms look good. They just look terrible. I don't even use any of the pieces of the set that often, I kind of regret all the time I spent farming that set. They actually don't go with anything, they just look really bad. Like the boots when you put on the boots they make you look like one of those cranes. The umm.. here we go one of these kind of shows what I mean (spoiler)

In the test stream earlier yoshi-p has said that tomorrow at the 14 hr live stream he will explain the butt issue.
I didn't say regression IS censorship, but the first post that started this back-and-forth seemed to be implying that censorship might be the cause. (It was Sturm Churro that mentioned both regression and censorship in the one sentence first, which I was directly replying to.)Regression is not "censorship", it's a specific software engineering term for when a "fix" causes a new bug in an existing feature.
This is precisely what has happened here.
The "fix" has caused greater impact than the "bug" it was intending to resolve.
The proper course is for it to be caught in QA before it goes live and sent back with a message saying "try another approach cause this one caused a regression"
My real concern here is the possibility that this was the "agreed upon approach" and they thought "nobody would notice". Boy did they get that wrong if this is the case. It's important the community strongly signal a better and more narrow approach to their intended "fix" needs to be taken.
I requote:
This sounds a lot more like they're implying censorship and not just "they introduced a new error".I know Square Enix has good intentions, and I know if they were truly against more westernized tushies, it would be flat from day 1. However, there is a strange pattern happening from what I see. Perhaps the higher ups at Square Enix aren’t happy about that? Or maybe their ethics department isn’t happy about it? Whatever the reason is, it would be nice to have Yoshida somehow explain why it is considered priority number one over everything else relating to clipping. Especially after acknowledging in a past live letter that NA and EU fans would like a Butt slider feature. That’s what I don’t get.
And still nobody has pointed out how this is a pattern.
---
In any case, on your (plasmacutter's) "concern that this was the 'agreed upon approach'"... maybe it was. That still doesn't mean they did it because they knew people would object but wanted to slip it under the radar, or that they viewed it as a regression in the first place.
Maybe they genuinely think it's less important.
Maybe they thought the change was only affecting dresses where you wouldn't see it anyway.
Maybe they did the best they could within their time/budget constraints and this seemed the easiest way to respond to complaints and fix it.
(Maybe this forum just has a disproportionate focus on the issue compared to other places. I'm on the Eorzea Collection Discord - a website entirely focused on in-game fashion - and nobody even mentioned the changes until someone asked about the patch notes today. There was absolutely zero outrage.)
Hopefully. I hope it isn't going to be reverted or classified as a "bug". I probably won't be able to post here when the good (or bad) news hits (hooray?).
I want Yoshida to give a big long explanation about the clipping issues or something else, that would be glorious.![]()

Like I trip over and hurt my leg, and people just laugh around me ( hoping that I will never get better )

How about we wait for tomorrow and see what he has to say. Obviously the issue has hit a nerve and they are aware of the outcry. It certainly got on their radar. Butts are important to people! I suspect they'll fix it where they can or revert it.
I was glad to have got some kind of shape to my characters again. As a woman it was nice to see some actual shape.
Seems a very silly thing for them to have fixed when there are lots of other bad clipping issues in the game.
Then again they only let us have bigger boobs in ARR, in version one they where not there at all >.>
I expect some kind of bs answer as to why they did it as per.
