I never said it was “just 1 guy doing everything”. I was merely questioning their priority, when there are far larger issues that could stand to be fixed over GNB sounds that were fine before, and combat voices that were fine before. No one asked for either as far as I’ve seen, and even the JP side of the community aren’t happy with the latter (I don’t know how they feel about the GNB sounds, but I know they also have a thread on the JP forums complaining about the new voices, because not all of the voices have sounds that “fit with the old ones”—I know my Miqo’te voice is one of these).

AND since there was a bug report submitted, this is clearly a fix for that, and not "taking everyone's butts away just to spite you"

All right, so where’s the fixes for the myriad of other instances of clipping that have also been reported and noted throughout the years? They ignored people complaining that the Faerie Tale Princess attire literally eats the hands of any race that isn’t Lalafell, so why hasn’t it been fixed? There was more ranting about that outfit than there was 2B butts.

Maybe, just maybe, the actual results of the fix were unintended, and it was meant to fix a big, as that report clearly was, and probably wasnt limited to that outfit either.

But no, this was all an intent to slap users in the face, malign them, make them feel unwanted, etc.

Honestly, the amount of vitriol in this thread over this is utterly ridiculous. I've seen less hate over actual issues with the game.

This thread is honestly quiet civil compared to some of the others I’ve been in, which have had far more “vitriol” in them. As I said to someone else, I’m sorry that some of us prefer our character’s behinds to look proportional to the rest of their bodies.

With the rest of the clipping in this game, I don’t see why this was a “fix” that needed to happen. They’ve blissfully ignored the rest of the clipping that goes on, so why was this one suddenly so different? No, this isn’t me putting on a tinfoil hat and saying they have something against proportional butts; it’s merely me questioning what made this change so important to implement. Apparently, they’ve “fixed” this problem, and caused an entirely new one with some of the other pieces of Nier gear in the process.

Well, it was nice while it lasted. Time to change my glams :c

Can a community representative somehow forward this thread to the dev team? I’m not familiar with how they rule out which threads are eligible to be forwarded or not, but judging by this thread’s rapid popularity, I would say it’s a candidate. As for the 2B NieR bottoms being submitted as a bug in the past, there were plenty of other issues being reported as bugs, many have yet to be addressed and if they were, it seems like it took months before it was fixed.

Now, here is what doesn’t add up to me. Something so trivial like this was so highly important and super gameplay experience-ruining to the point where they just had to “fix” this? I think not. I love Square Enix and we all do, however, it’s best to just admit you are biased against something rather than just outright patching it out and ignoring anything relating to it. They know how many thousands of players want a butt slider, they will not add one. Apparently armor textures will be distorted. That’s fine, I respect that. Now, as alternatives to butt sliders, we get butt bottoms. A very “band-aid” move, but welcome nonetheless. A very small minority has reported this curvy butt item as a “bug”, and they find it so dire and important to where it must be patched out?

It’s like, let me get this straight. Bust sliders are okay, however, hip and/or butt sliders are not. Fine. But butt items aren’t either? Okay, this tells me that someone or multiple developers are highly against curvy rears. And if it indeed is an ethics department issue, then simply modify current glamour to give a more realistic rear. I understand in Japan or Korea, the way women normally look is different than here. However, final Fantasy is supposed to appeal to many demographics in the west too. And in case you didn’t know, Square, not all of us are built that way. I do not have a rear that looks like that. Many women do not.

There is no bias. SE doesn't hate or are scared of butts (at least now, will see on the future if FFXIV is going to be "update to current year"). Some female bosses designs are a testament to that. (I like it BTW) The pants (for male or female) ruin the outfit because the shape is out of place (flat). Since I'm not sure I can link SS from other games I invite anyone to google the nano suit from Crysis, Raiden from Metal Gear: Revergerance, Tosh from SC2 or Genji from Overwatch. Then compare any of those to the PvP suit in question.

In all honesty, is a pity that every time this topic surface is always mock and dimish as a sexual thing, sure is that for some, but for me is tied to general aesthetics.

Anyway, and back to the topic, if anything this has showcased me the reason why the butt is the way it is and why most of the gear covers/hide it. This whole "fiasco" is more a testament of "the cutting corners" approach FFXIV team has been using since SB (more like ARR but by then was justified), because they did not even bother properly testing it things like the clipping from DRG leggins+2b boots are a thing.

Yeah these are my thoughts too. I have been vocal enough about it, I agree with your thoughts on "cutting corners". On the same topic of butt sliders, I think there is actually a quote by Yoshida himself somewhere around here of him saying that adding something like a butt slider would require a full redesign of their outfits, because of all the clipping issues that would arise or stretched textures, and the sheer amount of outfits in the game make it a logistic nightmare. I am paraphrasing, obviously, but I don't think Yoshida is lying here, and the logic of having no butt sliders would persist here with a flattening of the 2b butt - only with outfits that cover the waist.

You are right, I forgot that the viera butt is actually effectively the same as the base butt, but using some tricks of the eye to make it look bigger than it is. The 2b butt actually resized and morphed your bottom. Either way, the viera butt is still out there to see in all it's glory, so that further makes me believe that there is no bias towards butts. And yes some boss designs incorporate butts, or skimpy outfits right now.

Yeah, I remember the screenshot. I think in the actual miqo'te screenshot thread I also touched on those PvP bottoms, they are skintight and look horribly flat. The 2b bottoms dyed an effective color, makes that set look MUCH better, and it even matches the ninja aesthetic I had going for it. Unfortunately, those bottoms are part of about half the class sets, and I don't know what males could use to make it look better. The shape is definitely really weird, its like... sucked in.. like the hank hill butt.
