Devour + Cactguard from OT should cover that to an extent. They only have negligibly lower defense then a proper tank, but having 20% more passive mitigation in exchange for 10K+ less HP is not nearly enough to make up for it.
Even at full HP I'm nearly dying from tank busters in normal Alexander raids which feels a little wrong when I'm in full 270 gear.
Also theoretically MT can Avail OT and OT can Diamondback at the same time. Avail is on 2 min recast, but with tank swaps i think that's sorta the intended way?
Sounds clunky as hell, tho.
Sometimes rumors are just... rumors.
Been doing some tanking on BLU for spells and log clear. It really need some help imo.
First off, the Look is not a good spell for initial pull, short range and takes time to cast, meaning the mobs can hit everyone in the party and your Look might hit only half of the mob as they spread out on the whole party.
another point is the HP, way to little for tanking.
These are some suggestions for spell changes when under the effect of Mimicry: Tank
Mighty Guard: Damage penalty is lowered to 20%, all spells receive "Additional effect: Increase Enmity".
The damage receive of 40% stays. This will make the damage a tank does actually noticeable and can use different spells/skills to maintain damage such as targeted ranged AoE spells. The counter point would be "wouldn't everyone just go as tank with mighty guard up", but that would sacrifice the crit/direct hit bonus from Mimicry: DPS.
Devour: Grants a stacking buff that increases the BLUs HP, stacks up to x times. Effect is lost if Mimicry: Tank is turned off.
Enough stacks that it puts the BLU HP at 150%-180% of current HP.
The Look: Cast time of zero.
Makes it a BLU version of Overpower for initial aggro grab when close, removes the cast lag that can mess up targets.
Frog Legs: Cast time of zero. Additional, puts you 10% higher than the current main target for the monster.
Should make tank swapping easier and cleaner.
Cactguard: Can be used on yourself.
BLU's DPS actually seems pretty high now thanks to the huge 20% crit/DH buff from their DPS stance.
Dunno if it's enough to offset how low their "tank" DPS is, though.
Like how their only way to make their dps output "overpowered" is to slap an arbitrary permanent devilment on them
Savage Completion Rate ~5%+ of active players. Community: "Ugh stop catering to savage"
Ultimate Completion Rate ~1% of active players. Community: "Ugh stop catering to the hardcore raiders"
Frontline/ Rival Wings/ Hidden Gorge Mount Aquisition ~0.05-1% of active players. Community: "Ugh PVP is so dead in this game, they should stop investing in it"
Blue Mage Morbol Mount Aquisition ~0.01% of active players. Community: "WoW bLuE mAgE iS sO fUn AnD aCtIvE i CaN't WaIt FoR mOrE lImItEd JoBs"
Very clunky Devour won't be too much issue with 15s duration can get it up long enough in advance Cactgaurd with 1s cast for 6s be a little tighter especially in movement heavy parts.
Whoever thought casting cds (especially when you only have a few) was a good idea needs a sardine pelted at them
Guy butt is best butt <3
They ought to have made it so Veil of Whorl also applies a mild defense buff like GNB's Camoflauge if you're tank mimicry.
Casted defensive abilities really are clunky as heck in hectic situations. Maybe a side perk for tank mimicry could be removing the cast time from all defensive abilities.
I could use your type of argument over anything we get in this game. This game is more of the same, and that's why we still play it. I mean, what were you actually expecting? Something similar to a normal Job? haha.
I was actually having so much fun doing dungeons with only BLU. I don't understand what is the difficulty to understand that when BLU was released it was not suited for group play, but now it can. I mean, it have actual roles now, what's the difficulty to stop using this brain dead argument over something that has nothing to do now that BLU is 60 and has complete capabilities to do group content?
It has 80 actions, were you expecting that every one of them was unique? They are all different and do have a use.
You can literally learn all the spells in the first try now, what's the complain?
I want you to answer me what Final Fantasy tittle has a BLue mage that have all actions unique and not just "more of the same".
I can only see complains. Where is the constructive criticism? Do you imagine anything any better?
This thread alone is just a waste of time if youre not going to help to feedback the dev team with actual valuable responses. You complaining or not playing the game is actually the same bad end.

Complaining is feedback and hey, it's not up to the consumer to make things palatable, that's on the producer.
Also, I wonder what your feedback is? You didn't really state anything other than "BLU is great."

My feedback is headed to OP. All my post was feedback.
Complaining is not feedback. Constructive criticism is feedback.
Why waste time complaining then if it's up to the producer to make things palatable? Your whole thing contradicts with itself.
BLUE is palatable, if it's not for you, that's your opinion then, because for me it is. It may not be the perfect thing, but it serve it's purpose.
As I said, not playing this game or just complaining is the same thing. Better leave next time.
Complaining is feedback. Whining stemming from "I can't main it so I'm going to reach really hard to come up with imaginary excuses to why the job is bad" along with using subjective reasons as if they're objective facts isn't feedback.
Threads like this one are textbook examples of why we can't have nice things: because the haters will try to ruin it for everyone else any chance they can, just because they weren't catered to. This thread is just like the Male Viera thread started out: full of people who rather ruin it for everyone because they didn't get what they wanted.
Y'all are already spoiled enough by devs and it shows on your attitudes.
