Got my battle tiger. That's the last of the tank mounts, which means I never have to touch GNB, DRK, or PLD again this expansion. I did a little mount farming but for the most part I took all of them across most every environment to give them all a chance. The journey is less about the mount and more because I am a tank main, so I feel I should have a rudimentary understanding of how they work.

Brief thoughts, in order of favourite tank to least:

Fell Cleave
Love how this one looks, love how it plays, and my smooth brain enjoys its simplicity. A fun tank to play in all environments. I love feeling like a moustache-twirly villain by holmganging people over the train tracks in Hidden Gorge. All I'd ask for this job is better Storm's Eye management and crit bonus on meat gauge. Since Stormblood this has been my favourite job in FFXIV and no love has been lost since then.

Dork Knight
I wanted to hate this job. Don't like its look, its job quests (and Fray), its themes, its animations, and was never a fan of big swords. That said, it's a really fun job, and really really good to play. TBN is easily the best tank CD in the game and MP management here is honestly way more fun than most of the job gauges. Will say Darkside feels kind of pointless design wise... it's remarkably hard to not have it up. A gauge would make way more sense for Storm's Eye... something that takes more planning and choice. Worth mentioning is this is probably the most powerful tank right now in PvP, though WAR and PLD have features that make them competitive in RW and FL.

Nerdbreaker
A good tank for DPS players. If there was something I'll miss about this job, it's the openers. Super exciting and very satisfying to execute. If I had to pick on something here, while it mostly plays well the job feels like it lacks a definitive flavour since IMO the Gnashing Fang combo doesn't cut it and APM is not far from DRK. I remember the developers talking about GNB having unique ammunition types pre-release, and I hope they can figure out how to make this work next expansion. In PvP, while its burst is appreciated it's overall underperforming.

Inceldin
I love sword and board jobs in fantasy... It's normally my go-to. I tried to main PLD and found the spell rotation felt remarkably unsatisfying and completely turned me off. I was hoping instant casts would redeem this one for me, but I still hate it. I also do not like Atonement or Mom's Confetti at all. I am glad they made a caster tank for those who like it, but not my cup of tea at all. Never want to play this job again if I can help it, though I respect that it exists for people who dig it.
