I finally beat Varis EX today!!!!! God, I never thought I would, it only took took me two days of progging it too! Now all I need to do is kill him 3 more times to get everything for the pieces I want, god I’m excited.

Some of you are probably rolling your eyes thinking it’s easy, but this is a big accomplishment for me, I don’t do EX/Savage at all, mostly because PF sucks, I still think SE locking dyeable AF gear behind a EX trial is a awful idea, but there’s nothing like finally beating it after bad PF after bad PF.

I did the rest of the ARR Extreme trials. Did the first half of the Four Lords stuff. Made a friend.

Some farming in Eureka, running a few Treasure Maps with the FC and checking on the weekly lottery (no luck )

After about three days of playing, my alt has gone through Garuda and is ready for Castrum Centri as a level 49 White Mage. Surprised I'm only level 49, though. I figured the Road to 70 buff would be a little more potent, but it seems like the EXP gains compared to the amount needed to level even out at around 30-40 or so. I guess that makes sense—I distinctly recall having to grind out EXP to keep doing the MSQ on my original character. So far, though, it's been a blast. Even what I thought would be obnoxious hurdles turned out to be not quite as bad as I remember. Can't say I would miss it if the Company of Buffoons and the Corrupted Crystals stuff got the axe in 5.3, though.
