Only macros I use for paladin are provoke with a sound effect to let the other tank know, a hallowed ground macro with a sound effect to let the healers know, and a shirk macro that automatically hits the other tank and has a sound effect to let the other tank know.

Provoke has permanently turned on animation. You don't need to announce it to the entire party, let alone do it with sound effect.

Same with HG. I don't see the use of announcing it to the party, but at least remove the sound effect.

The real power move is macro all of your buttons to spam party chat with a monologue per each attack. Forget Unlimited Blade Works, each battle is your life story.

PLD actually does benefit from macros more than others due to his support skills.

    what I use:
    /micon "Cover"
    /merror off
    /ac "Cover" <t>
    /ac "Cover" <f>
    /ac "Cover" <2>

    this will cover your target,
if you do not have friendly target selected, it will cover FOCUS target that you can decide before pull,
if you do not have even that, it will cover second member of your party which is you tank buddy (so you can take second leg of tank buster etc..)

I guess if you not doing 8-man, you can instead of <2> use <tt> to cover target-of-target (whoever the boss is hitting)

The very same macro can be used with Intervention:
    /micon "Intervention"
    /merror off
    /ac "Intervention" <t>
    /ac "Intervention" <f>
    /ac "Intervention" <2>

and ofc Shirk, so you dont need to re-target for shirking:
    /micon "Shirk"
    /merror off
    /ac "Shirk" <t>
    /ac "Shirk" <f>
    /ac "Shirk" <2>

I do not like to macro Clemency, because its GCD skill. But its no biggie to use it too.
