    Combos!!

So either google is broken or noone has bothered to put up Paladin Shadowbringers combos that I could find searching the internet.

It seems a little crazy something like this is not a tagged post right at the top of the forum but it would be helpful. What are the single target and AoE macros for Paladins for Shadowbringers?

    Thanks!!

never ever use macros in this game except for specific case like ground targeting skills.

Or skills that require you to target another person. *cough*Shirk*cough*

To elaborate, if you were unaware, macros will not use the built in skill queuing system. Meaning you will sometimes need to mash it a lot before the macro initiates properly (if you ever see someone with a provoke macro with party chat, you may know what I mean), and on top of that the chain of skills cannot compensate for your skill speed and GCD on top of the skill queue.
They aren't built for battle purposes and this was intentional by design. The game devs want us to press our buttons.

As for what your combos are, well there's plenty of resources out there for rotations but I suppose step one would be to ready your tooltips and see what each skill does. It does outright tell you what it combos off from.

Hoo boy. Okay, first off, stay the hecc away from macros except for rare circumstances. The only macro I use at all is for Nascent Flash on warrior when I'm MT, and even then I still default to RI more often than not.

Second, for paladins, your AoE combo is Total Eclipse > Prominence, with some lovely Holy Circle usage for some nice numbers. Your single target rotation is quite a bit more complicated:

    1) Start with Fast Blade > Riot Blade > Goring Blade to set up your DoT.
    2) Next, Fast > Riot > Rage of Halone/Royal Authority, depending on level
    3) If you've reached 76, you'll use Atonement 3 times. If not, repeat step 2.
    4) Repeat step 1-3
    5) If you have Fight or Flight up, use it between your first Riot Blade and Goring Blade
    6) FoF should fall off on your second Goring Blade. When this happens, use Requiscat. This begins your magic phase. Here you'll use Holy Spirit until your mana runs out, which is 5 casts. When you reach 80, you'll instead cast HS 4 times then Confeitor.
    7) Go back to step 1.

As you can see, something like this you can't really macro.

Ohhhh ok so basically what I have been doing. I was a little thrown off because I finally figured out how to unlock pvp at level 80 lol.... anyways when I went to that Arena Island thing one of the abilities it gave me was a built in Combo Ability for Single target (Fast Blade > Riot Blade > Goring Blade) and AoE

I have been doing it without macro since I started but I was wondering if I was missing anything special.

PvP is entirely different than PvE. Unlike in WoW, where the two mix a lot, both in world and in rewards, the two are treated as entirely separate in FFXIV: no world PvP except for duels, and PvP content is kept exclusively to Wolves' Den and Frontline Roulette. There isn't any real PvP gear or stats, either, just rewards for participating.

The only macros as a tank I use is a provoke /party chat macro to let the other tank know when is good to shirk me, and an auto party member 2 shirk so I don't have to swap targets while during my rotation to shirk the other tank. Otherwise, I can't recommend macros for anything else other than anime limit breaks.

have you ever tried to macro

    /ac "Spirit Within"
    /ac " Goring Blade"

Mash the bottom as you surely always do when using Goring Blade.

What I want to say is if an Ogcd that you use is always between certain gcd skills, you can macro ogcd with the gcd that follow right after.

Do not do this ever. This causes so many issues and is really inefficient. The only times I would suggest a macro are what has already been said, ground targeting and player targeting. Otherwise, never use macros.
