What is the [funnest] class to play?

AST - I love synergist and saboteur classes. I don't know why, I just find them exciting. So, AST's synergist properties were my jam. I thought the card system was really intuitive and user-friendly. I also really liked the different effects each card had. I actually had fun memorising those and the combinations Royal Road when it first came out. It was just so exciting. The sounds were really nice to me, too (which can weirdly prevent me from playing a class), and I thought the spell-casting animations were nice, light, and not too slow.

BRD - I had only recently picked up (like... 6 months before SHB came out or something like that), but I ended up choosing it as my second main for pretty much the same reasons as AST. I really liked that BRD had potential to not just be "a mindless DPS," because one could somewhat strategise their songs to better aid the team in different situations. (I say somewhat, because of CD. And... because I don't parse or use stats so... I have no idea if it's just a placebo thing for my own ego, LOL.) I really like how mobile it was as well as its animations (like how it flips sometimes. Yesss!).


DRK - The story was what got my hooked initially. After a while, I just thought it felt and sounded and looked so good play. It was really satisfying to be able to take on a mini boss fate by myself and just... slice-n-dice away. XD I didn't get far in levelling, though (at like... 60?). So, I can't really comment too much.

I really don't have one at the moment. Dancer is like... a pale version of 4.0 bard. It's my "best" class at the moment and it was fun in the beginning when I didn't know what I was doing. Now it's... it's okay. It's a little boring. To me, anyway. I like the animations a lot, I like the sounds a lot. I do enjoy the uhm.... steppes, seeing the character dance in a battle like that is really satisfying. If some of bards songs were conducted like that, I think it'd be neat. BUT ANYWAY.

I find the response so far to be rather interesting because there is a frequency of some classes being mentioned more than others. At least... thus far. So, I'll be curious to see how it continues transitions as people respond more. /Nods/ I think I might actually give them a shot because they're appearing so frequently. xD

Dictionary.com is the furthest thing from the definitive source of the English language (the Oxford English Dictionary is). The key is in your link: Informal English. Dictionary.com includes so many informal and colloquial language, which are not words by the authoritative sources. If you write a paper at any college or university worth their salt, and write the word funnest, it will be circled and marked, "not a word."

As for all the others who throw around "Grammar Nazi," you're just too funny. I guess it's an unrealistic expectation when browsing an English forum for posters to use actual words? This is why society is going down the toilet.

I don’t think you appreciate how flexible the dictionary is. Oxford dictionary regularly updates its news words list because, unlike you, it recognises that language is not fixed. It develops, grows, and changes, according to how people use it. It is a tool to communicate. As long as you are understood and not in an English exam, which I don’t believe we are, it is fine. Whatev got added in 2019, for goodness sake, so I think funnest can be left alone even if it is technically incorrect.

Following on from Mozzy’s point about colons, you should also keep in mind colloquial differences based on country. In my country (UK), "Grammar Nazi," is incorrect. We would put the punctuation outside of the quotation, as follows: “Grammar Nazi”, . This is also an international site, where users may not be as fluent in English as you are. If you give people some slack and don’t hold them to a ruler, you may find you enjoy conversations more.


Anyway, I find SCH to be the most fun, though I dislike changes made to it. I also enjoy SAM.

As for the MOSTEST FUNNEST class, for me so far, with very limited combat experience in this game, it would be the DOH classes. Can't really pick one that stands out more above the others. I just like taking things and making them into something different. It's oddly satisfying and allows me to add variety to my in-game hoarding.

You know what, it’s early days because I’m still levelling, but I could see this for me too. I’m currently on holiday and I am itching to go back and make more stuff. Feel you completely.

DNC was my entry point for ranged DPS, and I instantly realised that *this* is how I want to DPS. However, DNC didn't quite have the 'oomph' I was looking for, so I have been trying to level MCH, which I have so far been loving. I have also been loving the SMN/SCH package deal, as well as GNB, which I am considering as a replacement to DRK, given that it's a better thematic fit for what I expect will be my main job.

That's just me, i'm not really able to dps well in this game. Hard for me to focus on the rotation and the fight. I prefer something that's more reactionary instead of rotational and healers hit that spot for me. SMN is almost there but i don't really enjoy it currently. Too much going on with the egi abilities being manual, too many shorter cooldowns to watch.

The most "funnest" for me is rdm and mch. I judge a job on the feel of it rather than just numbers. Sam would be another good one although mine is still at 70 for now.
