(Request) Preorder Bonus Items

Not a pre-order item, but I'd like to see the all-classes Onion Helm put on mog station. All the other collectors edition items are available for sale, so why not 1.0s? It's a bit weird that the classic versitile class glamour is only available to tanks. If 1.0 stuff has got to remain special then I would like a new non-role locked Onion set since its such a classic class

There is already a non-tank alternate onion helm available in the game, the Peregrine Helm, although that is far less likely to find (as it's a very rare chance a retainer venture will bring it back, the Red Onion Helm which is only for tanks is far more common - I've had three Red Onion Helms found through retainer ventures and never once had the Peregrine Helm drop).

Although I wouldn't be against SE adding the Onion Helm and Garlond Goggles to the game (it would at least put an end to the ridiculous price gouging of sealed/unused copies of FFXIV 1.0 going for sale on sites like eBay simply for the item vouchers), I'm pretty sure SE just aren't interested in making them available (after all, the huge stink that occured over making available 1.0 Manderville and White Raven earrings again during the Rising a few years ago probably killed off any chance of more 'old' items from 1.0 becoming available again through other means.).

They corrected themselves on that, though - the version released on MogStation is a separate "replica" version so you can't buy the original. (ie. What should have been done for the Rising in the first place.)

The main reason people objected was that the "proof of achievement" items were being given away to people who didn't earn the achievement. Nobody kicked up the same degree of fuss when the replicas went up for sale later.

Yeah people like us that are currently playing may do so, but someone not currently subbed that may be on the fence coming back for an expansion, the preorder items may push them over to the sale side. If it's known that the items would be otherwise available again, they may not bother preordering and may not order at all after the pre-release hype dies off.

This has to be an incredibly small amount of players agaisnt the amount who just want, like, the game.

So small infact that I don't see any reason not to have pre-order items available again, hell you can buy the digital collectors edition stuff separate, just throw the earrings into that and call it a day.

Because visually-unique items being lost forever and out of reach to anyone who wasn't there at the time is disappointing. If these were real limited-edition items released with the game, it would be possible to buy them secondhand if you wanted them. There's no way to do that with account-locked items - and no manufacturing costs involved in making more.

I don't even expect the EXP bonus. Just make the items available again as statless, functionless glamour items.

The Baron set is really pretty, and I've seen maybe two people using it the entire time I've been here.

Because you'll get the items significantly earlier? Case in point, the Fan Fest outfits weren't available for two years.

I also am of the opinion those outfits shouldn't have been made available to the public.

Buying a CE is different than preordering it though.
Perhaps the people who only want the game on its own are care not for bonus items is small, maybe not. But regardless, it'll defeat the purpose of the preorder bonus items entirely if they're given out another way.
