:3.. Was thinking dark souls when I read the title, so I had to hit that Onion knight armor lol. But really I'd love to see some of those slightly fantasy'd up knight armors like what is in dark souls:

It's not so much important how realistic the knight armor is, I just really like the figure shape of it. Like, really really like. ALL tank armor could be different styles of knight armor and I'd be fine with that lol- though I do understand the importance of variety and options so.. not saying they should do that.. just that if someone says more knight armor I'm going to be like YEAH. In terms of tiers though the less armor'd European gear, the stuff you might more stereotypical see on Geralt from the Witcher series is cool but I'd still prefer 'knight' armor.

But I'm not going to say "get out of here!" if someone wanted something different since I basically have an insatiable desire for knight armors xD...

Some random designs I saw when google for the above pictures..:

I am so ready for more armors like that.

First of all, I am born and live (and love) my hometown Regensburg. It's a part of the UNESCO World Heritage, mostly because of the well-conserved inner city, the cathedral and all that. From kindergarden over to elementary school and what you Americans would call High School, visits to our many museums, tales about the ups and downs of a former salt entreport (when Salt was extremely valuable), with the plague and all that stuff - including their attires. All that was normal for me when I grew up, I am living basically in one of the epicenters of medieval europe.

The second thing is, another personal anecdote ahead, when my father, brother and grandfather played cards, they would often not use the German, but the French deck. And of course, as a young boy, I took them and "played" them with my own fictional games. My favourite card - and here my argument closes to FFXIV - was the "Herz-Bube", or Jack of Hearts. Hence my signature. On the French deck, he is supposed to display Étienne de Vignolles, or "La Hire", a was a close comrade of Joan of Arc. The interpretation or portrayal transitioned all over the different versions from Europe and not being restricted to that special knight, but similar noble men:

As you can see, they all feature some common feature, such as being dressed in duelist/soldier/military attires, huge plumes (feathers) on their hats and long leather gauntled gloves, sometimes even with the lace at the entry like the Red Mage's profession's gear has and usually wearing smaller arms - no huge swords, but spears, halberds. So the RDM's rapier fits in well.

So you can probably understand why I love RDM so much - apart from their gameplay and design philosophy. This traditional European clothing, this nobleman flair, is something I am so missing on FFXIV, that's why I am so with you. Square Enix, just like many japanese artists, take heavy influence from Europe (for "Kiki's Delivery Service" by Studio Ghibli, they were even making a company trip to I think Finland/Sweden to get impressions of a European old town). If Square Enix would go back and get us some more deserved European medieval themes clothing-wise, I am so with you!

    Sincerely,

Oh man I hope they add more traditional European armour sets, the only normal looking armour set is that ARR tank leveling set that comes in mythril, steel, and I think bronze too but I would love to see more sets that look like the ones you posted.

As long as it comes with shoulder cape that falls below knee, I'm all for it.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

I felt the High Mythrite set (which share a model with the level 74 crafted gear for tanks) was also good for functional looking armor that isn't overesigned.

I also liked the Ivalice Ark Knight and Holy Knight sets though I can see why some don't like the holy knight set with the big sleeves and butt cape etc.

I feel like we could only see them in level1 pvp glamours since that style seemed to be ARR low tier levelling gear and we are slowly moving towards futuristic space armor when we finally can go to the moon.
