Hello folks, and I'm sorry to Moderators if this isn't the right sub-forum to ask/discuss about this topic.
I've been a player since wwLaunch of 2.0 ARR...
My 2 mains are WHM and PLD. WHM was my first job to level.
While it was a pretty straight forward and easily understandable class, other players always give me hints and tips.
Do's and Don'ts. When to, and when not to.
Then, I switched to PLD.
While I have a harder time with this in ARR, I still stuck to it and it made me be a better Tank for Healers due to Cross Class Skill features.
((CCS? WHAT IS THAT?! YOU HELLA OLD, OP.))
But anyways...
One of the tips I got as a healer is to never, ever, regen during mid-pulls.
((I learned this the hard way when we had to grind CM and WP days for tome gear. I remember those speed run days like it was yesterday.))
Fast forwarding to the present time and ShB, I noticed that a lot of WHM's and AST in Diurnal Sect would put regens on tanks in mid-pulls.
While I kindly suggest not to do so, but to apply shields or do big cast heals in between pulls, some players don't take it very seriously, don't understand, or gets very offended.
Responses such as,
"Dude, chill. It's not going to kill me. Just pull more."
"Just shut up, you don't know anything."
"So? Does it matter? I didn't die yet."
"I thought they took that feature away?"
"The skills didn't say to not do it that way."
"Are you sure?"
To me, if the regen ticks while I pull, and for some odd reason, the radius with these group didn't reach ALL, obviously, it will go to the healer.
I will need to back-track to the healer and grab it again.
However, because I am back-tracking, all the mobs I'm running away from will start to hit me, obviously.
Thus, making the healer work more, waste MP, waste more time, waste cool downs, etc etc...
And this happens to almost every dungeon I go into that has a WHM or AST in Diurnal. Sometimes its with me as a tank, sometimes it's another random player.
Because I felt that my suggestions aren't going through them, I had to think outside the box and ask myself... What makes it okay to use regen now?
Then the further question that popp'd up....
So yeah, I'mma askk....Is it a thing now?"Wait... Is this actually a thing now? Is applying regen in mid-pulls an actual okay thing to do now? Is it part of a pro-tip thing?"
Am I supposed to let go of the old unwritten rule of no regen during mid-pulls?
I'm just trying to figure out if its just me, or if this is really a normal thing to do?
