If BLU becomes homogenized to be in line with the rest of the combat jobs it just becomes another thing that people raise to level cap for their achievements and then just forget about for another expansion. As a limited job, it has its own community and content centered around the job that makes it healthier than it would exist as just another DoM.
I refuse to give it a shot because I A) don't have time to do old content, and I don't particularly want to do it again either B) Don't want to do it on this version of blue, I've been part of the theorycraft stuff with limited blue for a while, and I just get annoyed when I try to play it, because I don't see the issue with having a seperate balanced version to the limited one, especially when playing dps mimicry blu is just playing a normalish dps most of the time. I don't particularly find "breaking" content with a Job fun, and the way that blu plays while doing it is pretty unispired to me (i.e. your basically a fun normal dps, that presses the "break" button every now an then, unless youre a tank then youre just miserable). Also just as a petty thing, I nearly give it a shot a lot, because as I've said I love blu, but A) I've seen how dead pf is for it when im playing, B) they used the number of players leveling it as sucess indicators last time, so im not giving that to them for something id level to 60 then almost never use.

I've never advocated for getting rid of the limited aspect either, just having a seperate "homogenised" version, if anything this would bring more players into the limited aspect as something to do. "Just another DoM" is fine by me if it has the BLU flavour.

(Here is my cosplay btw, don't like your no true scotsman fallacy calling me out on how much i like it)
