I would absolutely love to have Beastmaster in the game. My favorite class in Dragon Age Origins was the Ranger, who could have animals (that leveled up into better/stronger forms) with them. Please don't limit it like BLU. That was a colossal waste of resources/time IMHO. Let them learn certain spells yes, or tame certain animals, but the thing that killed BLU was that they can't do anything with everyone else because they're always 20 levels behind.

You know plenty of people actually had a lot of fun with 5.1 BLU right? It fixed many of its problems and gave it a lot of life. I would compare it to Pyros in that it is now quality side content with an active playerbase.

If BST was like 5.1 BLU, it wouldn't be bad for the game. As it stands, it will probably be even better than that because I imagin BLU will be getting even more content before BST comes out.

Well thats the issue Devs have with jobs like Bluemage and Beastmaster though, they dont progress like all the other regular jobs, they require you to do more than just level from a to b like the other jobs and the Devs basically dont find it fair for a job to be like that, not to mention it would cause other issues. Yoshida gave an example that if they made Blu a full on job then parties for raid and what not would then have stuff like "you must have so and so skill to join as blu," and beastmaster would be on the same boat as you would need to tame and train your beasts. A working full on bluemage job would basically have to loose the learn aspect and have you learn via level like all the other jobs, you could "learn" via like job quest or maybe they could have "learn" as an actual skill that just pulls a random skill from a small pool of skill but it just wouldnt work like how it does now. So yeah full job Beastmaster would have to learn its skills via level, then have maybe it would couple set beasts you can call into battle similar to SMN more focused around your weapon with the beast aspect just being tagged on.

Can call them advance jobs and have plenty of "warnings" in game that they require more effort to get up and running compared to standard jobs. Sure it might not be "fair" but it would be up to the player instead of the devs deciding for us.

Also you already have required spells to run the "new" blu content so that excuse is even more debunked now.

Other than the spells given to you through progression, what spells are required?

Spells you are required to get to do blu quests: Blood Drain, Mind Blast, Faze, 1000 Needles, Glower, Northerlies, Whistle, Exuviation, and Frog Legs

Spells you get from the quests and carnivale: Water Cannon, White Wind, Off-guard, Transfusion, Mighty Guard, Moon Flute, Doom, Revenge Blast, and Angel Whisper

If you can show me a group that have got their malboro mounts just using these spells then I'll definitely admit to being wrong about this point.

You need Diamondback to survive at least one level of the Masked Carnevale.

But...that's kind of how it is now anyway...at least with the more streamlined classes, you obviously have to have done all the stuff leading up to that, have the right gear at the right level and such. Except instead of the focus being on gear, it's on spells (or beasts). I guess I'm sort of missing what the difference is... "don't join this party unless you have such-and-such spell"is no different than party finder set at such-and-such level. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

It's significantly different. A BLU with proper spells functions vastly different than someone coming in with just world mob jank or even just water cannon.

A slightly undergeared person can at still be in asset if they're a competent player.

A BLU missing certain spells/with a jank loadout is almost completely useless and alters the encounter significantly, even if they are otherwise decent at the game.

Ahh I see, thank you for explaining. It really seems like all or nothing in that case, doesn't it?

It's really noble, like you said, that they wanted to prevent people from being excluded.. but.. I mean.. there are so many other things that desparately need attention that just sort of got made and then dropped by the wayside *cough*PVP*cough*LOV*coughFCworkshops*cough*GC alliances.. darn this cold.
