Limited Job #2: Beastmaster

Beastmaster i could see being a full fled job rather than limited based on Ran'jit, his winged serpent is his aether made manifest due to his fighting style, could easily have a fighting style that uses monsters in a short burst or 1 off attack every so often, the way i see it could be a job with a simple combo but loads of ogcds or on the gcd cds for these 'monster' attacks.

The only comparison we have for a limited job right now is BLU. Of course it's going to come up.

But it's not about BLU. This is about Beastmaster. Yeah, the OP threw some ideas out there. That's great. But people are skeptical of another limited job because of how they designed (and severely limited) the last one. It's a bit of a touchy subject. Ideas are a good thing. In fact, I like some of what the OP suggested. However, that also makes people wonder how it could actually happen and they only have one job to base their train of thought on, which is currently BLU. That is where I'm coming from and probably where some others are too. But we appear to be going in a bit of a circle. Let's just agree to disagree to avoid actually derailing the thread.

What I have been thinking for LJ BST is give it a psuedo reputation bar for every genus. You gain "rep" by fighting alongside or raising a member of that family. The higher the relationship, the stronger the pet. Maybe even an ultimate version.

For example: crabs are tanky wavekin. Get it to max rep with that genus and you get access to, I don't know, Courier Carrie that has not only a unique look, but also moveset.

Then make a separate thread and call it "No limited BST" and do whatever you want with it. Don't hijack a thread and try to rationalize it. At least not to me.

In the interest of discussion: What if, instead of being combat-aimed, BST was a Disciple of the Land? The story would be focused on rediscovering and conserving species endangered or thought lost to the Calamity or other disasters. By finding their nests out in the open world, you could use a series of actions (similar to a botanist or miner manipulating their gathering rate, HQ rate, etc) to fill in a bestiary log, perhaps culminating in gaining that animal as a minion or mount. At higher levels, you could participate in an animal show of sorts, perhaps earning rewards like themed glamour gear or barding. Maybe even housing items like cages or pens to show off your favorites.

I like that idea, could be a nice alternative to gain some "wild" crafting materials whitout having to resort in mass murdering so and so beasts.

I simply want Beastmaster and the only way I could see them implementing it is through a limited job situation as I don't know they would work within a party. As for people wanting another healer, I am not sure why. Every healer is basically a re-skin, which their spells all being basically the same thing just named something different.

Players i do not think have issue with Beastmaster (many want it) but the idea of limited is just so niche and was not popular at all.
In order to improve limited job(s) they would need to add content specific to it and expand on it which takes up lots of time which they really do not have much of.
