I cannot tell you for certain as i also like them both. I hated Machinist up until this expansion, now it is actually fun. I do not play it enough to tell if it needs buffs and what not.
Red Mage was absolutely junk beginning of this expansion, thankfully we did not need to wait 6 months like in Stormblood for changes.

And yes for once i agree with Neela, lol. There is always compositions that is better then others.
