    About collectible crafting

Hi any who reads this. Don't know where to put a post like This so I guess I'm posting it here. So I'm kind of new to crafting and I'm at the point where I need to craft collectibles to get scrips for my master carpenter 3 recipe; so here's the question, does using HQ mats increase the collectability like it does quality or no? Cause if it doesn't then that's a huge bummer cause it'd be real handy and I don't want to waste my HQ mats cause I'm constantly gil starved due to being a carpenter (it kinda comes with the territory I guess, since I don't know the economy or what sells so I usually end up Gil'less at the end of the day). Any answers will be delightfully appreciated!

    1) Yes, using HQ will increase the collectability like it does quality - collectability is basically the quality of collectables.

    2) You could have checked that yourself, kinda - by beginning a collectable craft with HQ-mats. I'm mentioning this to point out that as long as you dont hit any of your crafting actions after starting a craft you can just cancel it without using the mats - thats sometimes handy, when you forgot to put up food etc.!

    3) We have two subsections for anything crafting related, if you have further questions: The "Disciplines of the Hand"-section (under "Classes&Jobs) and "Items, Synthesis and Gathering" (under "Gameplay").

    4) Carpenter actually shouldnt be that expensive - unless ofcourse you're buying ALL mats, including the logs you need. So last piece of advice: Level at the very least your botanist - thats the gathering job that gathers wood, so you wont need to pay for your most basic mats. In the long run it might also be a good idea to level the other crafting and gathering jobs, so you wont need to buy any mats from the marketboard anymore.
Botanist mainly supplies the carpenter, weaver, chef and alchemist.
Miner grabs everything for the three smiths, aswell as alumen for the leatherworker.
Some fish are useful for both the chef and the alchemist (...most of the fish are useless, though...)
Both leatherworker and weaver require mats that drop from mobs.
Since most crafting jobs need stuff other jobs make, its a good idea to level all of them - only one job wont make you the big bucks, if thats what you're after! So best to pick up the other ones sooner than later!

In the meantime, my best advice for making some gil would be furniture (check what you can make for cheap) or gear thats in the mid-level range (55, 65, 75... thats when the previous expansion max-level gear becomes less useful and people get new stuff).
The main sources of income are endgame items, though - gear, food, potions... so you're far from that and your carpenter cant make most of them anyways. As I mentioned however: Furniture can sell for a lot, without using super expensive but rather super annoying mats (stuff thats only required for furniture and therefor doesnt get gathered that often), so thats where you could get some income from!
