Two person party option with Trusts or Squadron, why doesn't this exist?

Recently my wife and kids started playing FFXIV. I had been mainly solo for last several months. My family starting to play the game pointed out a glaring issue with trusts and or Squadrons, there is no option to party with another player in a dungeon to get exp for two people. I know the option that doesn't give experience, but that is not any good for new players. Why does SE not support small groups better with either trusts or squadron. For those out there, saying do deep dungeon, we have but that gets boring pretty quick. SE we need some options for regular dungeon play with 2 or 3 players and a trust/squad member.

I am sure this has been discussed in length, but I didn't see it when I did a search. So apologies in advance, if its out there already.

They talked about it when they introduced trusts. Apparently having two players confuses the trust AI - things like who to prioritise for healing.

Why do Trusts even exist? Does anyone really want to guide the horrible Trust AI through Holminster Switch 25 times?

Yes. A lot of people would much rather run with trusts than a DF group. There are a number of threads that make this point. Personally I always run with friends, if friends aren't available I run with my squadron/trusts. Shockingly it is a great deal more fun than a DF group, the trusts actually TALK for a start ....

Excuse me for not being a fan of the party AI, or of Holminster Switch in particular.

You asked a question. I answered it. Not sure why my answer prompted you to respond as though my liking for the Trusts was somehow something you should take personally?

It's not about "wanting to run Holminster Switch 25 times" (not that you need quite that many to level up anyway, but it's still tedious on repeat) - the primary purpose of them is to help you get through the MSQ; the level-grinding part seems tacked on.

I used them all through my initial run of the story - aside of the reduced queue times for a DPS role, the real appeal for me is seeing the other characters' comments and interactions.

It's also great to be able to take your time and admire the scenery. Most recently for the Grand Cosmos...
when I reached the feasting hall and the ballroom, I just ran around and looked at all the details. It stopped being a dungeon for a few minutes. I appreciated it.

Then I went with a friend who was doing it for their first time. Queue through duty finder, playing with a "real" party... we were in one end of the room and out the other at full speed. If that was my first experience, my sense of awe would have been ruined.

I learned the mechanics pretty easily the first time around, cause the companions (or most of them) will move before the mechanic begins.
Plus, their banter can be pretty funny

with the exp boost you don't need to run it 25 times. if you're running a job from 71-80 with them they will out level you at points and you're the one that has to catch up to them.
