    Mnk was originally intended to be "The combo master" job. To almost resemble a fighting game character. The best suggestion I have heard is give Mnk Sabin's Blitz using weapon skills. Depending on what combo of weapon skills you use you either get effects or unlock certain combo finisher weapon skills.

    So from what I think, we need to come down to the consensus if we keep the stances or not.
    If yes, we should encourage stance dancing.
    Recently I played slay the spire, and I think the devs made a nice job with the watcher.
    Basically, you gain bonuses from the stance whenever it's active, but also an effect/buff when you leave the stance.
    So why not tie stances to different weaponskill combos?
    I know, in a vacuum it sounds dull, you spam one combo for 10 seconds (or whatever the duration of the on exit buff will last), then another and so on, but what if other skills will benefit from whatever stance you are in? Similarly to AST stances.
    Like X skill will deal more flat damage in Y stance, but will place a dot in Z stance

    Again it's just a visual aid in lieu of standard, boring buff timers and recast timers - it has the exact same function but is displayed differently. It wouldn't be using MP as a resource like BLM or DRK. I'm not suggesting making MNK a magic job. Every single job uses aether in the lore - and theoretically should have their MP gauges utilized because of this. Why even give them MP bars at all if not to make some use of them?

    Just a quick rundown from the Live Letter.

    GL is a trait, it only increases GCD speed, there is no longer a damage increase coming with it. Potencies have been adjusted to reflect this. This also means there is zero chance of losing GL.

    Form Shift gives status 'Formless Fist' which allows the use of any weapon skill.

    Tornado Kick is now a damage oGCD and does not affect GL at all.

    SSS now has a movement increase buff associated with it when used.

    From the short clip of Yoshi using Monk, Perfect Balance has been given the Ninja Bunshin treatment, you get stacks of Perfect Balance which deplete with weapon skill usage.

    I did not see Riddle of Earth on his bars at all and it seems Dragon Kick still grants Leaden Fist. Whether Leaden Fist has been adjusted I don't know.

    Anatman and the 3 fist forms are still present, what they do I have no idea, however Yoshi was in Fists of Fire for the demonstration, so maybe it has gone back to Fire Damage, Wind Movement speed and Earth Damage mitigation.

    Mixed feelings after seeing what was on offer in the LL. I think for a rework of a job, they didn't spend enough time explaining changes they made. It also looks like the GL lightning effect on your character is now gone as well.

    Overall, I am happy with some skill changes, stacks on PB is great, FS change is nice, TK is usable now albeit it's just a damage button you press when it's up and I guess SSS is now a budget disconnect tool to give you a little speed boost to get out of danger after greeding the hit however, we dont know what Fists do anymore, Riddle of Earth seems to be gone, Anatman is there but we have no idea, this was just too vague on some really meaningful things.

    To be perfectly honest, I'm actually pretty upset about losing the GL animation. Imagine if they traited BOTD for DRG and removed the visual effect, I don't think they'd be very happy either. What a careless removal.

    So that LL huh? My thoughts on the changes:

    Tornado Kick - pretty much turned into Steel Peak.

    Form Shift - gives "Formless Fist" which allows you to use any move without having to cycle forms, cool QoL I guess, no more screwed up openers in casual content because the tank is impatient and pulls immediately.

    Six Sided Star - The same, except it now gives a speed boost. ...OK? I'm not sure why they did this, but if I had to guess it's probably because we're defaulting back to Fists of Fire now so we don't have the passive speed boost from Fists of Wind. It apparently has a "very high potency" but I'll wager it's still worth 2 weaponskills like it is now. We'll see how this changes once we have the potencies.

    Perfect Balance - I really enjoy this change, no more skill speed melding hell.

    Anatman probably just exists to freeze the timer for Formless Fist if I had to guess. It'll probably still be useless no matter what change they give it though to be honest. At least we no longer have that disgusting opener to worry about.

    I need time to mull over these changes but I'm disappointed that this was apparently worth waiting until 5.4 for? Was figuring out the potency changes really that hard?

    I KNEW they were gonna remove it, that was the cool aspect of monk. Now you don't have the cool looking aura like the NPCS have in story fights. Kinda kills my mood to play monk now, I'll stick with dragoon now/warrior and dark knight.

    The animation for GL needs to stay somehow.

    The movementspeed from SsS actually looks pretty darn fast.

    What does Anatman do now? What is the point of this skill? Is it seriously just gonna halt the present form as our lvl 78 skill when formshift literally does the same?
