The latest update didn’t fix the black screen issue. And updating Catalina to 10.15.2 didn’t help.
The only solution seems to be to revert back to Mojave.

I am also having this problem still, bumping this in hopes of someone having found a fix. SE support said it was most likely a communication issue with my router, but this thread definitely makes me think otherwise (especially since I tried opening ports, hardwiring, etc. to no avail).

I've tried on multiple networks, wired connections both at private homes and at work, wireless routers, turning settings and crap on and off... same problem, every time.I am also having this problem still, bumping this in hopes of someone having found a fix. It is almost certainly not a router/firewall issue. The issue appears to be with FFXIV + macOS Catalina + intel HD graphics.
